Beach Problem

Why this? I'm pretty sure I have all the dependencies and stuff... I first noticed that dark blue-ish area and I tried fixing it with underwater sand, but it didn't really help much... I don't think beaches are supposed to look like this 28.gif

Edit -- grr, I started up the city again and I decided to get rid of some of the extra underwater sand (I also accidentally zomed in and zooemd back out) and when I was done I noticed the ebaches looked how they're supposed to look... but then I saved and they went back to crappy looking... 47.gif

I've had that problem before, it happens when you zoom out/in. Just save the city, quit the city to the reigon and reopen it. Do that everytime you lay beaches.

You can also fix it by going into underground mode... I think

You can stop it from happening if you alter the slope of your beach area. Slope the beaches off gently until u get beyond where the lot goes out to.. then you can drop it off as you like. This is a result of the beaches being "transparent" textured

Alrighty then. It still looks like that when I go into region mode though. Is that normal?

Try Pegasus's beaches, they don't have that bug.

Ok then. Hopefully I don't have to totally revamp my coastal area. Right now I'm using... CryinG.FreeM4n's "beaches for irregular coasts," version 3.2.

I'll look for Peg's once the Stex is back online >.<

Don't know what causes it, but Peg's beaches don't do it because they use transparent textures...meaning that it's like the props just sit on your terrain mod.  I hate the bug, because it can really screw up pictures (and it doesn't happen to just beaches, either...look closely at Goldiva's Yacht Club after saving and it happens there, too).

I don't think it can be gotten rid of permanently, but if you want to take care of the problem for a picture, just go into the "Zones" Data View and then back out of it.  Your beaches will be clear again until you save or do something else to trigger it.
