For those of you asking about those gas stations, I am willing to upload them and would have done so already but I wasn't fully happy with them.  There are lighting problems on both of them that I can't seem to fix (the lights for the street signs don't light up and some of the lights on the Chevron building stay on day and night).  Also, they are both just landmarks and have no jobs and I am not sure what dependencies I would need to list.  If someone wanted to, I would be glad to let them edit them or add jobs and release them as a joint project.  If anyone is interested, you can PM me...  otherwise I would just have to release them as is, but I'm still not sure about the dependency thing.  I'm a ***** when it comes to BATing.  15.gif

edit - I tried to put ***** and it censored it, making it look like I used foul language, which actually makes it seem funnier that way!  lol

It censored it that way too, never mind then!  Newb?

    Wow wow wow!

Amazing CJ! I really love how you've constructed the layout, it's like a real city would be. I also like the suburbs as well as the Terrain Mod! Great job.

You had me worried there for a second lol! Sorry I haven't been here in forever(i say that every time)  The city is looking absolutely amazing, I am astonished how much it has grown, I love the 6/03 update, pic 21.2 looks so realistic, & 21.12 is my fave, those gas stations look good to me as well.

Wow, what an incredible journal! I love the American theme, the sprawl, highways, large avenues with stores, all these little details are incredibly realistic. My favorite is that neighborhood with similar homes, reminds me of many neighborhoods I've seen where I live. Great job!

It is time for another update!   Finally...

hamsterTK - Thanks!  The Chevron station isn't on the STEX as of yet.  I'm glad you like my mixed uasge of buildings and I am taking your advice and beginning to fill in some of the empty areas around downtown with more griddy type infill areas.  Thanks for the comments!

    Ntq$310 - Thanks again!

jjune4991 - Thanks!  I didn't tell you which home was hers because it is a surprise!  j/k  I just forgot!  Glad you liked my BATS!

Jill Jacobs - You just think that was the coolest update ever because you were in it!  lol   Any compliment means just as much coming from you as it does anyone else, you have been here for a while now, and I can tell you know what you are doing by looking at your cj!   I'm glad that you are flattered, that is what I am here for...  to flatter you, or is it to make a cj?  Both I guess! 2.gif

jacqulina - Jacky, my English muffin, how are you!  That's okay if you have been busy, we all have!  I'm still glad you are enjoying my pictures!  See ya!

ky72x - Thanks!  I'm glad you are liking everything still, and my BATS!

dfnva - I have been trying to fill the area out more, so thanks for noticing!

edmonton_stinks - Hey!  I have BATted a house myself, but it wasn't Southwestern.  If I weren't so busy/LAZY  I would try and make some myself!  Thanks for commenting!

luker91 - Thanks, glad you liked that pic!  It's okay about the railroad, it gets zero usage!  Thanks for your comments!

    Rictiovarus - Thank you!

Russ93Plyr - Thanks, I am really glad you are enjoying it!

BlondeTwiggy - I'm sorry, I was just being a goofball!  I'm glad you liked my pictures in the last update and my BATs!  Thanks for commenting!

edmonton_stinks - YES! I fooled you for a second, sweet!   lol

ilikehotdogsalot - Thanks, hotdogs!  I'm glad you like my neighborhoods!  Thanks for commenting!

Pic 22.1 - An aerial view of downtown and the surrounding area from the West...

    22up1.jpg

Pic 22.2 - Here is the area I worked on filling in for this update, there is a mix of residential and commercial...

    22up2.jpg

Pic22.3 - Here is a view with the lights off (or on)...

    22up3.jpg

Pic22.4 - At the top of this picture is Mime Plaza, a popular place for all the local mimes to gather and annoy people and then get beat up.  Police are called to this area daily to join in on the beatings...  A mime is a terrible thing to waste

    22up4.jpg

Pic22.5 - Adjacent to Mime Plaza is a building which houses meetings for the local anger management group.  Not one of the participants have gone on to graduate from the group...

    22up5.jpg

Pic22.6 - Here you can see the dirtiest, most unsanitary McDonalds in the city.  Right next door with the tree that has been toilet papered, is the health department...

    22up6.jpg

Pic22.7 - This is the new apartment tower that the Hard Rock Casino has added recently...

    22up7.jpg

Pic22.8 - Here it is at night.  They had to install an underground tunnel connecting the two buildings, because too many people were getting hit by cars while crossing the street.  Mainly because they were looking up in the air holding their heads screaming WHY, WHY!!!!!!

    22up7b.jpg

    Pic22.9 - The nighttime aerial...

    22up8.jpg

    Thanks for looking!

A mime is a terrible thing to waste...poor anger management people. Maybe they should go after that stupid store that sells all their costume stuff. I can see it from the JJ building, and it's called Yours, Mime, and Ours.

Anyway, great update. The city keeps looking more and more awesome as it fills in. Don't make me...I mean us wait so long for updates, Cheesefries!

It looks like Pheonix - Arizona.

The city seems to be 'filling out' quite nicely! And nice to see that your city puts so much emphisis on clean food preperation.

rofl. I love Mime plaza. Those gated community type areas really make it look Phoenician. It's interesting how you included pine trees and a darker terrain mod, as many people don't realize how alpine-like Northern Arizona is.

I also love that baseball(?) stadium north of the downtown CBD, where'd you get it?

Nice job on the city thus far. I would have to agree that it does remind me a little of Phoenix. Now if the highways in your city were largely useless to a majority of the people in the city, then I would have said your city reminded me of Tucson...

Another great update, this looks better and better as everything gets filled in. Ironic that the most unsanitary McDonalds is next to the Health Department, but wouldn't sanitary and McDonalds be contradictive?

Hmmm.  Just noticed there are a lot of pictures and such missing from previous updates.  Rather than going back and trying to fix all of them, I might just try and incorporate some of the better pictures into one new update, for those who haven't seen them.  Most of my airport pictures are missing, but that is not much of a problem because the area around the airport still needs developing, so it can be featured in future updates.

Just wanted to let people know who may be new to my cj, so they don't think I end updates mid sente

Very amazing city! So many custom buildings made by you i see and read. I have a major question though.

I am really tired of the maxis default residential homes, so I'm asking, how did you get those beautiful beige roofed homes with the pools and are they available to others? I would love to make my towns and cities look nicer, especially with my housing developments.

And other then that question, on to the compliments. I swear everytime I look at an aerial view of downtown and the surrounding suburbs, my eyes get locked on it. You've truly made a realistic modern metropolis. Keep on updating so that people like me can marvel over the pictures.

    I'm the 'A' to the 'r', to the c-h-e-a-n,
and even though my name means 'old' I'm really quite pimp,
    I'm Archilicious.

Hope you're ready for some night pictures!

Jill Jacobs - The anger management people already tried closing the Yours, Mime, and Ours store down, but the stubborn mimes shoved it right back in their faces and opened another store called What's Mime Is Yours and What's Yours Is Mime.  They really are a bunch of

a-holes.  lol   Thanks for commenting again, and I didn't take a month to update again this time so that's a plus!

sEAhAwk fAn121 - Thanks! Glad you are enjoying it!

Santos16 - Thank you!  That's a pretty cool description of it.  Thanks for commenting!

    hunkske - Thanks!

nazaguy - Thanks, it is starting to fill out - your food preparation comment made me lol.

toxicpiano - Those are Maxis homes that I lot edited.  Thanks for the comments!

panthersimcity4 - Thanks, I'm glad you noticed that I have been including pine trees as part of my foliage!  I will find out what that stadium is called and get back to you!

rugar12 - Thank you!  lol about the highway comment!

jacqulina - Thank you Jacky, and I have some extra night pics in this update just for you!

jjune4991 - Thanks for commenting again! Glad you like it! Your step-mom sounds crazy!!

dfnva - Thank you, yeah that McDonalds gets hit by them the most!  lol

TV-VCR - Thank you, glad you like it!

Schulmanator - Thanks for the comments and the gold star!  lol

rjm35 - Thanks, I'm glad you are enjoying my city!

    jjune4991 - Good one, lol!

Archean - Hey, thanks for commenting!  Those are actually Maxis homes that I fixed up in the lot editor!  Thanks and I'm glad you like my pics!

edmonton_stinks - lol, good one from you too!

Here are the pictures, I will add captions in a little bit - I don't have time to right now, sorry!

Pic23.1 - Daytime overview of downtown:

    23up1.jpg

Pic23.2 - Same pic at night:

    23up2.jpg

Pic 23.3 - A closer zoom on some new office towers and the new Galleria Mall( the 8 story white building just left of the freeway):

    23up3.jpg

Pic23.4 - One of the oldest intersections in Copper Basin has taken on a new look, see Pic23.7 for a contest regarding this intersection!:

    23up4.jpg

Pic23.5 - The Galleria Mall area is a popular place to hang out because it stays open late to accomodate customers, this photo was taken at 12:15AM:

    23up5.jpg

Pic 23.6 - Here is a shot taken at 2:00AM showing a closer look at the new office towers and one apartment tower at the bottom middle of the pic:

    23up6.jpg

Pic23.7 - This intersection as mentioned above is one of the oldest in the city.  The first person who can give the nickname and who this intersection was named after will become the new mayor of Copper Basin and will be featured in the next update as well as have points of interest named after them:(hint:check previous updates)

    23up7.jpg

Pic23.8 - It is now 9:00AM the following morning, since it's a Saturday many people are still in bed:

    23up8.jpg

Pic23.9 - The Galleria Mall is already starting to get busy by 10:30AM:

    23up9.jpg

Pic23.10 - Here is a look at some of it's surrounding businesses:

    23up10.jpg

Pic 23.11 - Here is another look at downtown from the south during the day:

    23up11.jpg

Pic23.12 - And one last look at night:

    23up12.jpg

You may have noticed the captions in this update were much more "subdued" than usual.  Please don't be alarmed by this, it is just going to make what I have planned for my next update seem even raunchier than ever!  2.gif

    Thanks for looking!

EDIT!  See pic 23.7 for a new contest!!!!

Looks like your good sense of humor has rubbed off on others... heh heh! 3.gif

Once again, I really like how you always add the newest buildings to Copper Basin. Pretty soon, there won't be any more room left at this rate! It all looks great, Chris. Nice shopping area right off of the freeway, what would we do without SimGoober? 2.gif Looking at those awesome overview shots, I noticed how much has chanced since the beginning, over half a year ago. Looking forward to much more to come!
