Earthfirst:  Are you serious?  Because I laughed after I read that.  First of all, I didn't make the desert terrain, I only downloaded it.  Second, its a freakin' game.  I'm sorry I didn't study up on the ecosystem of the Sonoran Desert or read a book on it's natural history before making a desert city on a computer game.  Nor do I care that the pterocalic layers make building houses hard.  Third, I'm sorry this cj is an insult to the true diversity of the Sonoran Desert and the cities that grace their presence upon it's surface.  Other than that, thanks.

Don't listen to him, this CJ is amazing. The canals remind me of Scottsdale.

Don't worry about him. I live in Phoenix too and I love your city. 9.gif It looks very Southwestern - especially the shopping centers, we have tons of those here.

LOL @ the Mike story. Poor guy - that'll teach him never to go to any "venues" 3.gif

Earthfirst: sorry but that kind of detailing is not really possible in the game, especially alluvial features

Great CJ, and I weep for mike.

I sorry if you took my ideas as a put down, I was just educating you that a desert city a complex. Your city does mirror the desert city very well inrespect to urban layout.  I study the urban wildland interface, so I know lots about desert cities.

Also I am alwise right it goes with being an super nerd in biology, who cares why I do and you should care too if you value sim city.

Awesome! This CJ just went to the top of my favorites list...I love simple computer games that don't take into account the entire ecological history of the world! I had some issues of my own in the fact that it doesn't accurately reflect the natural flora and fauna of the North American subsection of Pangaea...can you get on that? Please? Now?

Once again, very nice job making West End! It seems like it gets visited by new characters every day. 3.gif The large amounts of parking lots look good, as does the canal system and bridges. Superior editing on the shopping center, as well! As for Mike, maybe we might see him return eventually, hehe. 2.gif

I agree with nazaguy. 3.gif You really need to learn about paleontology - we all know that the Barneysaur was the only prehistoric species of Pangea28.gif

*sigh*  Chris, Chris...we all know the Stegosaurus, Triceratops, and Tyrannosaurus were all from the Cretaceous period and the Barneysaurus Rex (purpleus dingus) was from the Mesojurassic Nineties PBS...

But WOO!  There are my dinosaurs!  Just like I asked!  It's like Miracle on 34th Street, only not on a holiday, or in New York...or in any other way...

...and get right on me...I'll pretend it's a Freudian Slip...18.gif

haha the dinosaurs lol! Maybe I could put a dino-costume on my avatar to cherish the pic, but I guess my dog wouldn't be so happy.

Great region view and I am looking very much forward to seeing the 'burbs,

With Barney being pretty mild-mannered, I'm surprised h that he didn't become extinct sooner. 3.gif

    Nice region shots, BTW. 2.gif

I guess, I should go back and see what you originally said Earthfirst, but I think everyone just needs to relax and not take this all so seriously...but maybe I'll change my mind after seeing your original post...and boy college is a beast, and so is grad school i bet, and time for SimCity is slowly slipping away as we get older...Just amazing how this has becoming a shouting match! haha

Anyways, I definitely like that region view!!! WOW, nice airport, I seriously need to build one in my city!!! Just such a daunting task with all the puzzle pieces! Keep up the great work, even if it is an insult to the Sonoran Desert, or whatever, haha.

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that my next update probably won't be until Monday or Tuesday - things are kind of at a boil in here anyway, so I thought I would try and bring it down to a simmer and get things back on track.  If you're interested, or haven't already done so, I have a couple older cj's which aren't desert themed that you could check out.  Just search the forums for Aqua Vista or Cobalt Springs, don't post in them though - it's not good to have closed cj's getting bumped.  Or you can check out all the new ones, which I have been trying to do.  There are just so many good cj's out right now - it's hard to see them all!   Anyway, thank you and I will try and have a good update for ya'll next time!  lol

    Thanks,

    Chris

I love your CJ. Its way more realistic than most. Definently better than what I can do. Plus I love the story about Mike.

Keep up the good work! I cant wait for more.
