This is currently my favorite CJ. I love how the areas you make really have the right "feeling", if you get what I mean. I get the impression that your pics could be from a real city. I think many people are too quick when they build cities, but it looks like you really take your time, and it shows. I especially like the last update. Using gascookers British houses in an American city works suprisingly well. I have one suggestion though. The suburbs closest to your downtown should (or could, whatever3.gif) be based on a more grid-like street network. Im guessing the city has been around for a while to get such a huge downtown, so realistically, the closest suburbs would have been built before 1950. Back then, the suburbs were more interconnected than modern suburbs. Roads actually led somewhere rather than just ending in dead-ends and connecting to major arteries. Good examples of this can be seen in most major American cities. Obviously this is just a suggestion, and if you want to just make the city the way you want it, you should do that. It already looks great so either way, I won't complain. Looking forward to the next update!4.gif

Looks good, very dry and arid. The long shadows add to it. Any cacti?

Let no one yield, we're on the field where deeds eclipse the sun; where the brave are told on a thread of gold, the tapestry is spun. As they speak of dreams, their armor gleams, this calm before the storm... Where all can see their destiny, the bishop takes the pawn.

    Heh, well I did. 3.gif

Your lotting prowess is amazing. The Arco gas station and the GameStop store look great with the car props. They look much better than their original counterparts and add a great deal of variety to the retail development along the avenue. Nice use of GC's suburban houses, they blend in quite well with that desert texture. Great job on this update!

Here it is, the moment you've been waiting for!  j/k   I started sprawling the city to the North, and in this update you will get a look at one of the newest developments in Copper Basin.

First the replies to all of your wonderful comments:

gabry85 - Thank you so much, I'm really glad you like my cj!

jacqulina - Thank you as always, Jacky!  I'm always glad to hear from you!

crazyarchitect - Thanks, alot of people are saying that - which makes sense considering the citie's location. (see below) Thanks for commenting!

suplado! - Thanks again, I know it looks awful compared to your work though!

    rct3twins - Thanks, dude!

autoVino - Thank you, glad you like it!

anarchy0029 - Thanks, I decided to make something else, but the townhomes will be in an update soon!  Thanks for commenting!

jayo - Thanks, I hope you continue to like what I'm doing!

Mulefisk - Thanks, that's cool that this is your favorite cj.  I do take my time building cities, sometimes unintentionally.  I try and think of something creative to build, or a new way of doing something - so that I can keep my city unique.  I do like gascooker's houses because of the sharpness of the lines, and I edited them to Americanize them a little by removing some of the walls around the lot and adding cars in the driveways.  I do know what you are saying concerning the suburbs and having more grid like streets in neighborhoods closer to downtown.  I may do that in this city, it's just everytime I try it that way I get disgusted by it, and I would never show a picture of it on here so I figure what's the point?  Great suggestion though, and by the way - the berate one image thread is my favorite thread on the site!

    Thanks for commenting!

Giligone - Thanks, and it's an honor that this is one of your favorites!

City2TheMax - thank you, that's the first I heard that it looks like Cali and Vegas, most people say Phoenix.  Good eye though!

manticorefan - thank you!  I do have cacti placed sporadically throughout the city, you just have to look closely to find them!  3.gif

ky72x - That's pretty funny.  When I was editing that lot and decided to use the Citroen showroom with it, I hesitated for a second - but then I thought "who is even going to notice it anyway", but you did!  Oh well!  I honestly don't remember what the original Arco station looked like, but I appreciate the compliment!  Thanks again!

jacqulina - thanks Jacky, here it is!  lol

Voulpiotis - Thanks, glad you like it!

CarmineHilton - Thank you, that's hot!

gabry85 - Thanks, gabry!  I don't believe you though, hehehe!

bbfan02 - Thanks!  You must have replied while I was making my post!  Glad you like it.

Here is where Copper Basin is located...  do you see it?   It is Southwest of Nice Butte, lol...

Well done again. I thought that you actually were basing this on a real place your map was so good, haha. I had to check google maps to be sure. Fooled me good. Excellent golf course nestled in around the houses. 9.gif I can't wait for more!

Nice golf course and suburbia pictures and I like how the greenery contrasts with the beige of the desert. Thanks for the info on the cacti.
