mas-pics like that make me want to take gun and open fire on my esophagus. Why is there a pool in the middle of the downtown rooftops? You think people like watching fat shirtless corporate execs take a dip? -4.5/10

Have the people in that city heard of LIGHTS? Of course not, they've all left. Realised how bland and depressing it is there! lol

wwetom1:  Yay, completely and utterly useless canals!  -3/-10

Masochist: All I can see are windows on ugly buildings that look like they've been over-Photoshopped a color Crayola would call "Death Warmed Over."  That or the sun is imploding, it's hard to tell which.  I hope it's the latter.   -5/-10

masochist - hmmm, you fooled me there for a second - I thought I was looking at a picture of some skid marks in a toilet, then I realised it was your city.

Let me post my pics first. I'm on a timed computer, so I'll have to post my criticisms on my next login.

This is from a southeast Asian themed CJ I'm working on.

Wheezy: What the hell is this s--t? Mostly American-styled buildings, most of them Maxis, thrown onto a map, and I expect some randomly scattered palm trees and crappy psuedo-Tibetan writing I downloaded off of a public domain fonts site to convince people this is "Southeast Asian?" Seriously, that picture is about as authentic as a microwaved cup of ramen. I should be ashamed of myself.

    (That felt good.)

masochist: Are you trying to recreate Gotham? Jesus, man, turn some damn lights on! And what's up with the randomly scattered tall buildings with no consideration for parking, plazas, or aesthetics. Just like the 58 billion other ubergeneric, poorly thrown-together CJs on here. -5/-10

wwetom1, that picture is too pathetic for me to even comment on. Go hide in a corner somewhere and don't even bother us with that lazy crap. 0/0. Loser.

    BlondeTwiggy:

Wow. Just wow. When I got my first copy of SimCity 2000 at the age of 6, I could have built a better city than that.

Were you drunk when you threw that together? And what were you thinking when you placed that airport?!  If anyone, for some unfathomable reason, decided to visit that crap-heap of a "city," at least they'd be mercifully killed in a plane crash before they had to set foot in that garbage-filled hellhole.

...makes me nostalgic for the kind of crap I used to make. Just look at that highway! I see you've been lazy and put all the civic buildings roughly near the centre so that they'll cover the whole city. The zots are a 'nice touch' and the Maxis trees are good to improve the environment score, even if they don't make the city look any better. That brown commercial building always used to repeat in my cities too.

    Overall I'll give this -8/-10.

Wow, two new pictures to berate!

Wheezy - Let me translate that writing at the top left corner of your pic, that is Chinese for: This city sucks a$$!

wwetom1 - Just looking at the way you have incorporated such a great selection of beautiful BAT's with those horrendous Maxis buildings makes me want to weep.  Reminds me of a bowl of vomit with rose petals sprinkled on it.

Wheezy: Microwaved cup of ramen noodles indeed... What I'd like to know is, how do the poor trees survive with those hideous pollution-producing industries right next to them? And Maxis ghetto neighborhoods constitute as Asian since when?  -6/-10

wwetom1: Was this for a contest to see how close you could cram your skyscrapers together?  Other than that it is only mildly disgusting.  -3/-10

Nardo69 - Well, since this is berate one image - if you were going for the completely fake, unrealistic look then you have failed miserably!  lol   I can't offer any constructive criticism's, that would be like me offering Rembrandt pointers!

Nardo69: Do your sims know how to be 5 places at once? Because I can see the same 2 people standing in 4 different places in the graveyard and in the farm at the top of the pic. Also, right by the church, there are 3 lampposts in the same place. What's the deal with that? -5/-10

sEAhAwk fAn121: It's too much of a utopian interpretation of a city, what with all the bright lights, etc, and it looks NOTHING LIKE REAL LIFE. -3/-10

City2TheMax: If i squint at it it almost looks realistic, but all the details are bad. The trees just become a blur of green -6/-10

BlondeTwiggy: The way the downtown immediately turns into empty space looks like a city from Simcity Societies. Everything else if awful. -10/-10

wwetom1: Canals look good in urban areas, but only if they look like they're there for a reason. -8/-10

masochist: The Maxis el train depresses me. -2/-10

Wheezy: Hmm, those houses look out of place. You can't even pull off a ghetto without putting in part of suburbia. -8/-10

wwetom1: There is no main focal point to your image. Is it the hotel or the office tower in front of it?Try taking it from a different angle to make it clear. -4/-10

Nardo69: TOO BORING AND DEPRESSING JUST LIKE REAL LIFE. -10/-10

    Last three:

Wheezy: Nice mixing of styles here...in that "3-year-old, 'Baby's First Block Set'"-kind of way.  southeast Asia, eh?  And you expect to convince me of this fact when you have only two kinds of Asian buildings in there?  And the ones that do make an appearance...well, I wish they'd disappear, because they clash horribly with the brown and gray slums, ghettos and factories you have all around them.  LOL...apartment, tenement, more apartments, factories, and then single family homes: you sure do know how to put together a city, don't you 34.gif?

-8/-10 - I would say the palm trees were a nice touch, but I'm trying not to lie today.

wwetom1: Oooh!  You have an Ikea store!  I almost missed it, because it was surrounded by all those tall towers...but then I noticed how out of place it was, and now I wish I hadn't spotted it 41.gif.  Apparently, repetition is the name of the game in this picture, right?  Not only in Maxis buildings, but also with diagonal custom content; predictably, neither are done well.  Oh...and points off for having the worst-looking building Maxis has ever put into a SimCity game (the yellowish-white tower on the bottom right).

-6.5/-10 - Do-it-yourself plazas are nice; do-it-yourself plazas made with Maxis tiles are revolting 28.gif.

Nardo69: A cemetery.  How...dull.  It might've taken you all of five minutes to make that, and that includes the time taken to sift through your different threads.  Someone else pointed it out, but I'll say it again: you've got the same two people in four different spots.  Two sets of quadruplets decided to equally space themselves out and stand in exactly the same position as each other, eh?  And for the love of Maxis, get yourself a better .jpg converter!

-6/-10 - I bet the trains that roll right next to the church really liven up funerals 21.gif.

Nice work, there is some repetition, but just enough that its not to predictable, could use some corner made lots, and some more open space though. I'll give you a 7 out of 10!

Now for my work... well erm, it still needs much more work, and yes, i know the road textures are kind of goofy!
