Keep up the good work  4.gif

19.... dun dun dun...

Edit:  and with exactly 19 posts on page 71... page 71 becomes visable when clicking on 'last post'

HalJackey...  I hope you don't mind but I want to lock this temporarily so that the techs can see what happened...

We will unlock this again as soon as possible...

Actually the math is simple...

This CJ now has 2100 posts.

71 pages.

19 posts on page 71.

Each page should have 30 posts.

70 x 30 = 2100

2100 + 19 = 2119

We dont have 2119 posts in this CJ...   we are missing 19...

There should have been 2100 posts to the end of page 70 but there are not.

There are 19 missing posts...   which is exactly the number of PFB posts to get page 71 to show!

It would appear that the number of PFBs directly relates to the number of 'missing' posts or posts that have been deleted.

Hold on folks we may be onto something here...

Thank you, abcvs.

We can return to our regularly scheduled CJ.

Sorry it got hijacked, haljackey.

...And its not over yet! face-icon-small-tongue.gif

Keep a look out for the GTR over the next little bit as further testing is conducted. The ultimate goal is to find a way to get rid of the page flip bug, and it seems the staff are using this CJ as a guinea pig (but I let em 2.gif) to figure it out.

Standby. The GTR is heading into uncharted waters. There's no way to know for sure she will come out of it better off or in pieces.

    Best,

Well, as long as they don't clear up afterwards (read: delete their posts) the PFB shouldn't get worse. But couldn't they just used a large lock topic, like schulmania vol 1?

    Replies:

TmiguelT:  Hehe, glad you enjoyed the video!

-That was quite a comment!  face-icon-small-tongue.gif

    kj3400:  lol, thanks a lot!

-I'm now taking measures into my own hands about countering the page flip bug.

    ComputerGuy890100:  Thank you very much!

    jimbo_jj: That's why I make the videos!  I don't need a license, I'm the mayor!  2.gif

Patricius Maximus:  I thought you would like it.  Thanks again!

SWAT-MEDIC:  Hey, glad you liked that pic!

Blue Lightning:  Thanks!  Yeah, I think it looks good there.

Psycho_Teddy:  Welcome back teddy!  Its always great to hear from you!

beebs:  Ah beebs, you know it!  face-icon-small-tongue.gif

buildsolid:  Hey glad you enjoyed the "report".  Its why I do it!  face-icon-small-smile.gif

TmiguelT (2):  That would be the page flip bug my friend.  Don't worry, I'm taking measures to get rid of it.  Nice to hear you enjoyed this update as well!

PhilsCafe:  Always!  NAM is full of useful components eh?

-Lost?  Even with all the signs and stuff?  face-icon-small-tongue.gif

S1apSh0es:  lol, I'll consider it for a future update face-icon-small-tongue.gif.

GreekMan:  Well, maybe this update, but not this CJ.  LA's highways are made for bypasses and long term commuting, whereas the GTR's are made for useful, direct access.  Besides, its one of the only ways to get full use out of them in SC4face-icon-small-tongue.gif

-I'd say its more NY than anything, but with its own twist.

Livin in Sim: Yeah, you might not want to ever ride a train I was piloting.  Interesting theory about the views and whatnot...  See, that's why the train didn't have any extra cars in the video, no one was supposed to be riding the thing.  face-icon-small-tongue.gif

-Actually that's a casino, believe it or not.  I do not recall where I found it though, sorry!

-You know, you're right.  One iconic tower for the University coming right up!

-Glad you enjoyed the latest update too!

gurrgkud:  Hey, thanks a lot for all your comments!  Yes, with a little love, you can work wonders, that's for sure!  9.gif

jacqulina:  Thanks, its always great to hear from you!

doironhebert123:  ...And that's just one part of it face-icon-small-tongue.gif.

-You need to make the RHW a way from point A to point B.  If your RHWs don't do this, they won't help you increase demand.

suplado!:  Wow, thanks a ton!  It means a lot!

Cheese89:  Thanks Cheese!  Its always great to hear from ya!

Theirishnintendonerd:  Hey, thanks a lot!  I don't make a lot of sunken highways, but I do want the ones I do make look good.  face-icon-small-tongue.gif

SkiGeek:  Thank you very much the comment!

abcvs (x16):  Hope the information you collected was helpful!  I'll do anything to rid this CJ of the page flip bug!

SkiGeek (2):  Thanks for returning "control" back to me once again!  face-icon-small-tongue.gif

abcvs (17):  Hehe, no problem!  Hope your tests helped you guys out!

Patricius Maximus (2):  Let's hope so.  I think the staff will delete their testing once it is safe to do so.  I'm now taking matters into my own hands about killing the page flip bug once and for all.

-And not just for the GTR.  2.gif

Korot:  It won't.  Once its safe to do so, abcvs informed me he will delete his testing posts.

-This is an active CJ, with a PFB that is long but not crazy long.  It was the perfect specimen to do testing.

sim_link:  Hey, thanks a lot!  Glad you like the new sunken stack interchange!

GreekMan (2):  lol, I think Jill knows about what's been going on here and in Virgin shores.  She will take that into account.

    Update time!

Sorry for the hiatus between updates everyone.  RL has been keeping me busy, and so has Simtropolis!  I've been doing various testing with the GTR to see how ST 6.0 will affect it, and how to get rid of the dreaded page flip bug that I'm sure everyone knows about.

-On top of that, you know that there's been a new NAM released, and the game that's responsible for my avatar (Earth & Beyond) is back up for a stress test so I've been busy over there.  (I have a new sig pic for that too if you want to learn more.)

Nevertheless, I have a new update in store for you from all over the GTR.  I also have a new region view for those who were wanting to see how the region has developed since the last region view was posted (update 100).  Enjoy!

    Picture Information

    NOTICE:  Please Read!

Before I post some pictures of my cities, please know that I strive for the best quality of my images possible.  Every picture from here on-in is not photoshopped in any way, and is taken directly from the game to show you exactly what I see in the game.  The only editing done is converting the .PNG file to .JPEG.

***IMPORTANT***    Also, please know that my pictures are COMPRESSED, and are NOT RESIZED! When you resize a picture, a ton of the image's quality is lost, and is shrunk to comply with STs picture size limits (800x600).  Compressing the image retains the quality, but looks terrible when squeezed to comply with site limits.

But, I have found a loophole in this problem.  Each compressed picture displayed will be linked to the actual uncompressed, true image.  All you have to do to view the image in its FULL RESOLUTION (1920x1200) is to simply click on the compressed image displayed in this City Journal (800x500).  The reason that the images are not 800x600 is because I present my pictures in widescreen (16:10 aspect ratio), making the image much more appealing for the human eye's stereoscopic vision.

If you have any questions or comments about how I display my images, feel free to post a reply.

Here we see one of the first RHW-6Cs in the GTR.  It was made before RHW 3.0 ever became public, and is due for some upgrades before development occurs around it.

    Witburg-Dec21821234809057.jpg

A new barrier has been installed along with high mast lighting.  A sound wall is also being constructed along either side of the highway.

The Witburg station parking lot.  As the city grows, the more use this huge transportation hub gets.  Parking is starting to become an issue.

    Witburg-Feb15831234809402.jpg

...So planners designed an ingenious way to expand capacity before parking gets worse.  By going underground, you can greatly increase capacity without taking up any extra real estate.

-Sorry, this image is not available in full resolution.

...And here it is upgraded!  No more road stubs!

-This is also the first FLUP to be installed in the GTR!

    Witburg-Apr4971235509070.jpg

An old RHW comes close to the tarmac at Crossings International Airport.  Integration of the A380s is making the region cry out loud for a new airport as the terminal gets more over capacity every day.

Disclaimers:  The RHW network does not appear on transport view, and those long black lines are a bug caused by running SC4 at such a high resolution.

Anyways I hope you enjoyed the new update!  Keep an eye out for developments in the GTR for the next little bit!

There is no way that that A380 will get to the runway without crossing the RHW, so an airport hub is needed yes. I think of a hub with at least 4 runway's, very large terminal(s) and lots of A380's parked at the terminal, together with other regional aircraft. In my vision, the hub will hold all international traffic to the GTR, with passangers who need to be somewhere in the GTR taking another plane to the airport clossed to their destination from this hub.

    Yours,

    Korot
