Wow, I sure have been missing out! Callbat, You're an excellent city builder, you've nailed British city building, from the diagonals streets, large train networks, and those details like wide open green fields, and rows of gascooker's excellent homes! Great work, very inspiring. I'll be looking out for more of your updates, Do you have any London recreations planned?

This is great! Obviously being from London I enjoy this immensely.

Will you try to recreate the whole city or just specific areas? There have been a few attempts already but all have stagnated after a while. I don't blame them. It's quite a challenge...

     Small Updade

Well, I know this is supposed to be a recreation CJ and completely accurate and what not but I have an imagination too! So, I've made this small village on the outskirts of another British City I'm workin on, yeah for those of you who haven't noticed yet Harlesden is

    kinda...........dead 9.gif

Ok heres the pics and some history

ALSO I've made some custom lots but they're all park menu stuff once I figure out how to make growable RCI I'll go LOT crazy 3.gif

The village of St. Keyne lies on the outer edges of the *blank* metropolitain area, it is rich in architecture as people have been developing it throught the ages, from Tudor to Victorian St. Keyne has a litle something of all eras.

The village started with this small church, the Church of St. Keyne. it sits on the border of the older part of town and the newer, Victorian part.

    StKeyne-1Dec-1.jpg

This is the older part of town, the street corner seems to have been "invaded" by Victorian architecture in the form of this pub, the Angry Mancunian, which serves some of the best locally made ales and an excellent choice of traditional British food like Bangers and Mash, Steak and Kidney Pie, and of course Fish and Chips, you can also pop in for a good old English Breakfast 44.gif.

    StKeyne-1Dec.jpg

St. Keyne Lagoon is a small little lake which is mostly underground, the part visible overground contatins only about 1/4 of the total volume of water.

    The cave entrance:

    StKeyne-1Dec-4.jpg

The lagoon flows more like a river down the hillside, this area gets particularly badly flooded during rains

There is also a big mound on the left side of the picture, it was built by romans or something to stop the barbarians attacking the town.

    StKeyne-1Dec-3.jpg

And the lagoon extends down all the way to St. Keyne, flooding it horribly during rains, in fact, its a bit over its banks  right now:

    StKeyne-1Dec-2.jpg

    I hope you enjoyed,

I hope you all had a great Christmas and wishing you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

     Comments Appreciated.......9.gif

Shows how much I know about my British geography 17.gifI thought these suburbs were around England/Britain, not suburbs of London. I did see the first update of Picadilly Circus, but was simply wondering whether you were going to do, for example, Buckingham Palace Area, Trafalgar Square, The City, etc....

Excellent new update, btw, I like the lagoon pictures.

Hope you had a great Christmas too, Callbat. Great terraforming and re-creation on the village. Only one question though: What in the hell is Bangers and Mash?

UPDATE- A Combintation of Dover and Bath!

Yep, another fake region by me. I know I REALLY should be working on all of those wonderful requests but errm...I made this in the meantime

It's called Slaptonshire County, it's coastal and very hilly in some places, it's very green and well preserved....and I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I enjoyed making it! 44.gif Also in this update, I've experimented with the maxis trees, I know many of you are maxisphobes when it comes to flora, so tell me I it's okay or if I should stop!

    First..the white cliffs of Slaptonshire:

    SlapshireCounty-26Mar-1.jpg

    A closer view:

    SlapshireCounty-1Jun.jpg

Aaaaaaaaand....my first attemp at a mosaic...hey it's not that bad!

    SlapshireCounty-21Nov161198909033.jpgSlapshireCounty-21Nov-9.jpg

And a closer pic of the village

    SlapshireCounty-26Mar.jpg

This is the town of Slapton Showers  Callbat's version of Bath

It is named after the county it is located in, and the ancient Roman showers that were discovered here inside of the cliffs that the town sits on.

The town is heavy in Georgian Architecture because of heavy development during the Staurt and most notably the Georgian eras........

Showers Crescent, hey, It's the best I can do with what's out there 22.gif

    SlapshireCounty-21Nov-3.jpg

Queen's Park with the Chrurch smack in the centre of town.

    SlapshireCounty-21Nov-5.jpg

The cliffside, which offers spectacular views of the countryside for miles around, even on cloudy days you can still see the the waves of the North Sea foaming up against the rocks on shore.

    SlapshireCounty-21Nov-8.jpg

    One of the observation points.

    SlapshireCounty-21Nov-4.jpg

Slaptonshire House, where formal affairs take place and the Queen's residence when she is on Holiday here, in the summer the entire town is CRAWLING with tourists and especially this manor.

    SlapshireCounty-21Nov-2.jpg

Some last pictures that have nothing to do with Slapton Showers ore the White Cliffs

     Its Autumn in Britain!!

    SlapshireCounty-21Nov.jpg

    Rolling fields of green

Excellent updates.  You're really capturing the essence of British villages and small towns in these updates.

The river that's burst it's banks is a great idea and I also really like the first of the Slaptonshire cliffs.  The irregular fields and the layout of the little village make the shot reminiscent of a Microsoft LIve 'birds-eye' view.

Ok I have some worrying news....(well for me anyways)

Recently, I tired DATpacking all of my plugins because I am annoyed by having to wait for SC4 to load and then having it crash so much. It worked but many of my plugins got screwed up including my block Maxis files and I tried it again without compressing the block all maxis files and it still didn't work for some strange reason. I din't play SC4 much after that until one day (like probably the day before yesteday...can't remember)  I started to organize my plugins folder ....so then I played SC4 and look at this!!!!!

    WestKent-6Oct021198981116.jpg

It's horrible!!! One of those horrid little Maxis homes popped up! And it only went downhill from there! soon the city was crawling with those horrid maxis things they call buildings.

AND my zebra stripe crossings are missing!!! (as indicated by the second red arrow)

what in the world could be messing with my block maxis files?????

Heres a list of files I recently downloaded, (mostly all removed because of the sudden paranoia)

    DATpacker(removed)

BSC No Maxis files(removed, these were downloaded because someone told me they worked with the DATpacker)

    callagrafx UK detached houses (removed)

and I also went and re-organised my plugins folder......what mods/downloads could possibly be causing this? somebody help me! If you know a mod that conflicts with the no maxis files

tell me (even if it's not on the above mentioned) Please help! I hate ALL of the Maxis buildings (even for an american city they look rather bad)

Usually I'm a "Maxisphobe" but wow... Your pics are great, even with the Maxis flora!  The second pic is especially beautiful - you really have a talent for making nature.  Good job on your first mosaic too.  4.gif  Aren't they fun?  Keep up the great work, Callbat!
