(super belated) Replies: zelgadis: lol, they were hard to capture, glad you enjoyed. bbfan02: thanks so much for your support! ownluby: thanks! more after this. bighaben: thanks! just trying something new. and say, how did you manage to get into the country early? we have a line-cutter here! globalhaze: they are good in moderation, when 4+ buildings show up in a bad fashion, i demolish it. jacquilina: thanks! sims co: lol i went through so many crashes to get to a good tram line, now the problem is that my new rolling stock's textures are messed up. suplado: thanks! crazyyaya: thanks! edmonton_stinks: first of many. 7. War and Peace The situation in the region is tense after a delicate cease-fire was signed between the rioters (henceforth known as the Salvation of Monde Liberite Front, the SMLF.) and the government. We will be monitoring the cease fire. The explosion in Dartford has been matched to the one that was used against the SMLF and the Monde Infini government has yet to take responsibility for the attack. If this happens, the Alliance and Bristol will be forced to cut off all land, sea, and air routes into Monde Infini, effectively isolating the country. this live feed shows the only link MI has to the free world, full of refugees getting out, and aid workers coming, escorted by IFV's and tanks. MI has closed the bridge to anyone wishing to leave the country after the last car to legally leave, an overloaded Ford Transit van, Licence Plate 021 CNT 870, trailed by a Worker's Protection Force Type 45 IFV. The government says the closure to refugees is to "allow more aid workers and materiel in." No word on a reopening date. This sign has been put up in front of the Cathedral and the West Train Station. It calls on the citizens of both the Alliance and Bristol, and to a lesser extent the other 3 countries, to stand together to end the Monde Infini Regime and to help those who are affected. The number there is the moderate estimated number of peoples killed in Dartford, and Poissons-Sur-Mer. Ever since the start of the situation, european-esque rowhouses have become all the rage here. It is unique because it's not like you have everything furnished from the government and you can just be a lazy slob, no, it makes people work for their house, it is not just a hand-out. It has been a boom to Transport Mille Cieux, most of the people take the Metro or the bus and its annual income is well over that generated from taxes from business. (they enjoy a low tax rate, but do require to be nearly transparent in their practices.) Also new here is a concept dubbed SkyFarm. This allows people who live in skyscrapers to have their own patch of land in a tower and grow their own food. The government is working to have at least a few square meters for every household/family in the city. The next update (probably tomm. or after the new year) will mostly focus on the Boroughs. Here are a couple of teaser shots. Sorry for my GLR stock to look like a TV test screen thing. The creator has still not gotten back to me yet about that.
  2. Whats the point of streetcar?

buses carry with them a pretty negative conotation that only the poor or minorities ride them (I am not defending this, just pointing it out)quote> dont forget the driving impaired, kids, seniors, and like you pointed out, the poor and minorities.

ACHTUNG! LONG UPDATE! ALSO DEATHLY IMPORTANTlease note that here and in all future posts, i invert the place numbers/decimal points i.e. 186.000,01 instead of 186,000.01 I haven't finished replies yet, ill get those up. 6. Cleansing the filth. Before I go any further, below is a map of the region. Monde Infini Official Names: United People's Republic of Monde Infini or Confederation of People's Republics of Monde Infini. Type of Goverment, Loose confederation of communist states, BUT, technically an oligarchy since the elite of the state control the country. I will get to the independent states (Bundesland Frei, the Midlands, Krobia) when the time warrants it. Monde Infini by way of Bundesland Frei repeatedly invaded Allliance lands to grab their industrial lands. It failed. This set off a massive mutual war between the two sides. It lasted until recent times, when Bristol and the three independent states brokered peace. After that, the Alliance prospered, and so did the other states, while Monde Infini set about isolation during this time. Now, ever since the bombing inside neutral Bristol territory, tensions are building up in the region. 12th July, Poissons-Sur-Mer, Monde Infini, broadcast by RTMC, Radio-Television Mille Cieux. A week after the Bristol Incident. Riots are still occuring near the Bridge to Lower Dartford, where anti-government protesters are attempting to either incite a revolution or attempt to get to Lower Dartford, where the government is accepting them to asylum. There are conflicting reports that the Military Police of the state i

  6. GLR bug

Well he doesn't want to accept PM's here, and I don't want to go through (yet another) registration process there.
  7. "Possible" way to keep game from crashing

I am trying this now and although the menus look squished, the textures are sharper, but take longer to load. I will see about the crash problem..
  8. GLR bug

I installed the Prauge tram for UDI and some other secondary ones. I did have the SFBT ones, but I removed the stations and removed it from the plugins folder.
  9. GLR bug

Thanks =) I'm pretty sure everything is there, I have the latest NAM, and the tram dl was an .exe so I would assume that all of the textures and everything else was included...

REPLIES: sims co.: thanks! edmonton_stinks: well, the GA hub took up the space between terminal 1 and the runway, so nothing is there now except grass. suplado!: thanks! nottheboss: thanks! it seems to be paying off with the metro system. bbfan02: thanks, but all the building credit goes to the people who made those awesome BAT's you see. fern244: thanks for the welcome! merry christmas and a happy new year too. mike the mayor: thank you! cleaner475: lol i loved roundabouts during my times in europe, esp. on a tour bus. zelgadis: thanks! and about the mod; which one? --- 5. Shattered Transport Milles Cieux has unveiled a new advert campaign to attract more visitors to the intermodal terminal and increase ridership in the metro. A few changes. Terminal 1 has been rebuilt following a gas leak a few months ago. No one was harmed due to the fire suppressants in there. It is now directly connected to Terminal 2. The PRT was upgraded during this time, and new bypass tracks for SkyRailPersonal and express trains. The new personal service utilises pods instead of regular tram stock, and is a pay service. Also, the old access road and barrier was demolished and a new avenue was put in its place. After a close race, prop 36 was accepted and a new GA hub was built. Trying to keep its old buildings, the sound barrier has been replaced with walls that are the same style as the ones near the ring road. The congestion charge was also defeated. To alleviate some stress at the Intermodal Terminal, a new station, Westbahnhof (West Station) / Cathedral Square has been built. While digging the foundation for yet another tower, a fairly intact series of walls was discovered. The new skyscraper project was quickly scrapped and all monies put in to restore the old fortress, and put the mayor's house and other houses in the compound. There is a lottery held each year to move a few lucky families into those houses. Next to the fort, these two blocks look like they have been imported directly from Paris. These house some government offices and data centres. A new railway line, the NICC, the Northbound InterCity Corridor, with a ICmk4 speeding along towards Westbahnhof. I will be away from th--

suplado!: thanks! i "borrowed" some of your construction workers and modified them to do the work faster, while retaining quality. hope you dont mind! jacquilina: thank you! edmonton_stinks: thanks, and yes, PRT is just like a taxi, but kinda complicated when you first see it. zelgadis: thanks! i went through so many crashes for that GLR, and its still growing. bighaben: lol thanks! hope i dont disappoint. projectadam: all of your dying questions about the history will be answered soon. NMUSpidey: thanks! 4. The Finish Line Well, they've did it, over 12 billion dollars and 7 years of hard work, the new airport and intermodal terminal is complete. Overview of Terminal 2, basically one big long arm with 6 contact gates and 2 remote stands. The SkyRail system has been extended, and the access road has been preserved to accommodate any thing that disables Skyrail. The new Intermodal terminal. Most of the activity is underground. However, there is one parcel of land in the airport that is yet to be developed. The public is divided on this issue, should it be a cargo space, more gates, or a general aviation hub, replacing the crude one by Terminal 1? BALLOT No: 0654114 DO NOT TAMPER, PUNISHABLE BY LAW NE TRIFOUILLEZ PAS, PUNISSABLE PAR LOI GEBEN SIE SICH NICHT AB, STRAFBAR DURCH GESETZ Prop 34 - Cargo Terminal at MCIT This terminal would provide the high-tech industry of Mille Cieux and give our economy a boost. (fill in one) [ ] Yes (Oui, Ja) [ ] No (Non, Nein) Prop 35 - Airport Expansion at MCIT This expansion would provide an extension to the low cost terminal. (Terminal 1) (fill in one) [ ] Yes (Oui, Ja) [ ] No (Non, Nein) Prop 36 - General Aviation hub at MCIT. This hub would be a replacement for the crude one by Terminal 1. This would be an attraction to many of the high wealth residents of Mille Cieux. (fill in one) [ ] Yes (Oui, Ja) [ ] No (Non, Nein) What's this? A high rise complex a kilometer down from the runway? The completed Tour des Mille Cieux. Up top is the ATC for Mille Cieux and the entire region. It also houses several embassies, the UN headquarters here, and several companies. And another ballot: Prop 37 - Congestion Charge This would allow the installation of electronic toll gates to all road entrances within a 2000m radius of the Centre Roundabout. (picutred near the center) It also calls for the deployment of unmarked vans equipped with licence plate reading CCTV cameras. This would help reduce traffic near the roundabout and bring more users to the metro or bus systems. [ ] Yes (Oui, Ja) [ ] No (Non, Nein) Well, that's it for now. I have finals this week. Thanks for reading!

REPLIES: edmonton_stinks: thanks! and i do agree with you on the roundabouts. zelgadis: , its quite common for that to happen. thanks for the kind words! nottheboss: thank you. mayorbk: thanks! hope the proposal that was implemented doesn't disappoint. bighaben: thanks for the watch! hope i dont dissapoint. NMUSpidey: yep, i have been to the real one, and its a great station. suplado!: thanks! schulmanator: thank you! The first two proposals have been rejected by the public and deemed too costly for its own good because it would have required very heavy leveling of high-rises and a complete transformation of roads in that area. Therefore, the people of the city came together and sought out a solution. The plan was to demolish a few city blocks near the airport, consisting of commerical and residential lots. Note the new avenues. In response with overwhelming protest on demolishing the old train station, they actually put the entire station on tracks and moved it a mile down the ring road to its present location. The T1 line that runs parallel to the ring road has been extended to its current terminus at Unity Station. It is now the most heavily used tram station in the city. The first terminal to be completed, Terminal One. This is built to accommodate the new spring of low-cost airlines, but now, until the rest of the airport is finished, most flights are handled here. Mille Cieux is one of the first airports in the world to implement a new public transportation concept, personal rapid transit, or personal automated transport. This is an extremely new operation, requiring the input of everyone who is involved in the project, from the passenger, to the steel worker to the janitor. To learn more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_rapid_transit Terminal 2, which will house all other flights, under construction. The rest of the terminal is a narrow concourse that extends all the way to another building like this one, connected to a SkyRail station. However, building pace is at a snail's pace here because of the incidents at Defloyd International and elsewhere, more focus is going to rail travel, which is more environmentally sound, and has less problems. Note the access road between the SkyRail tracks and the Terminal. This is the new Tour des Mille Cieux, which will house the headquarters of several companies, from mom and pop operations to multi-national corporations. also, city hall is to be moved here. note the control tower, this is only for ground operations in the airport, the rest is to be controlled atop the Tour des Mille Cieux. Note the new slogan for the city, "Our World is Our Future." It can be interpreted several different ways, depending on the context. Hope you have enjoyed this update!

crazyyaya - thanks for the kind words! bbfan02 - thanks for the comment about the flag NMUSpidey - to be honest, i never thought about quebec's flag when making the MC flag. as for the train station, there is another proposal that preserves it. sebbyb07 - thanks! Update 1: Another proposal has been sent to the provisional goverment, from the Frith Group. Proposal B(1) has nearly all of the elements of Proposal A, but the intermodal terminal area is slightly smaller, and this one includes the orbital road being extended. The major diffrence is being that the existing terminal will be actually moved onto the new site, as demolishing it has been met with some protest. And now for a little tour, mostly of the outer parts of the city. These city walls are the last defence of the city. These have saved the city many times, including recently. Another shot of very recent development of Mille Cieux. Also shown in the metro line and the ring road. The ring road, very new suburban development, and new self powered lights fitting in well with some redwoods that have passed so many tests. La Defense, the main centre of life in this city. Even though most of the city inside the walls were unscathed or rebuilt, most that have been damaged in the final battle have fallen into disrepair. Mille Cieux has a strict near-black out at 2200 hours, leaving only a few lobby lights, beacons, and some street lights on. Regardless of who ever wins their proposal for the new intermodal centre and runways, the UN backed construction team is already setting up in the space between the airport and the inner city. Hope you enjoyed this brief update.
