This is my first CJ and I am pretty new to SC4 and to ST. I hope you like my first work. This will not have a story in it. It is pictures of my cities.

First off, you should really make all the pictures into the reply, so we the viewers, dont have to keep on hitting back and view picture by picture. And also the links don't work.

The pix aren't working. Get the web adress image shack gives you for the pic and put the tags around it. This CJ might be cool, but it looks like you made a lot of pictures of neighbors houses.

OK I had fixed the pics too but I decided that three sets was a bit spammarific.

Very good start, buddy.

Hmmm... custom content... well my advice just do one thing at a time and build up slowly... everyone starts somewhere and when I first started my CJ I was all Maxis too... actually I still like Maxis stuff, but maybe I am just different or something.

When you do decide to add some extra stuff just add a few things at a time and make sure it all works, otherwise it gets all a bit overwhelming.

OK we will see what is up next.

Congrats Curious George on taking on one of the most challenging aspects of sim city "A City Journal" You have a wonderful start there friend, and you will change many of it over time. Defintely take any advice from fellow members as constructive crticism, and not attacks....that will never be an objective of anyone here. Looks like so far you have a following...great job in getting that core base going friend. I like the fact that you zoom in and focus the situation with the caption... A very much welcomed approach. Definitely am interested in seeing you grow with your CJ..... Play slow...don't rush it...I have been doing mine for a bit more than a year now...and I'm still only on page 19. LOL Slow is best.... If you ever need help, I am sure any of us will be here for you in a flash. Good luck with your CJ friend.

very nice start, theres room for improvement but its looking good, the pic are decent and the houses look nice I also love those apartment type buildings, i think they look fantastic.

It's a good start for your first CJ. This reminds me my very first cities and I have to say that you did an excellent work already!

nice work curious george!! you are off to a great start to your first city journal.....certainly better than my first i agree that you could use some custom content but everybody got to start somewhere and 10 times out of 10 its maxis lol. my only advice is not to go to the stex and download everything you want right away, analyze your city and figure out what you could use to make it look better (whether it be restaurants, malls, apartments etc) gradually integrate it in to your city. so far though, you're making maxis buildings look pretty cool. you are off to a great start and im sure you will improve over time. best of luck with your CJ

Hey, nice stuff here!  Honestly, FORGET everything all the jerks above have said, and forget people trying to shoot down unsuspecting first time CJ'ers into thinking there's no hope.  They have no soul and should be sent to Mars, no not Mars because I personally like Mars.  How about URANUS. 

I think you have started a nice city, its very green and classic.  Makes mee feel lke I'm driving through Pleasantville.    Don't worry though about people bashing you up about minor mistakes that they probably do every single day.  You have great potential and you will get better in time, and you will definitely get the hang of this whole C'ing thing if not by the end of the journal. 

Great work, don't give up because of a few lousy comments.

Looks like fun. Nothing wrong with Maxis stuff. I think they made lots of great stuff. Far too many people just come to show off their custom content folders. It's not as impressive as it used to be.
