OMG..SIM CITY WILL NOT START..PLEASE HELP!!

I dont know what happened. I tried to open sim city today and nothing happened. The bridge popped up and it acted like it was loading but never did! It just stays on the black screen. Should I reinstall? Will I be able to use all my old regions and cites. OMG please any advice would be nice. Or maybe suggest A thread I can go to!!

Try before reinstall:

1. copy all Your Plugins and own cities in another place

2. clear all Your Plugins and Cities (You must have here only original cities of SC4) folder and start again ....

And, please, don't use Caps in thread name....

If you do decide to reinstall, the uninstall program will give you the option to delete, or not to delete the My Documents\Simcity 4 folder, and plugins folder. You should manually move the Program files\Maxis\simcity 4\plugins to a new folde. Then before installing again delete the Program files\Maxis\simcity 4 folder, so not to have corrupted files left over.

How long did you wait? I have about 375MB of plug-in's and it takes my computer a couple minutes to boot up SC4. I know some people on here wait for 30 minutes or more. What I would do is not uninstall, but start SC4 and watch TV for about 5-10 minutes and come back and see if it loaded. It's the easiest diagnostic test you can do

Yea, my computer takes about 3-4 min to load SC4 to a city with 2.5 GB of plugins, just wait around for a bit and it should load. If it's not your plugins that's the problem then I suspect that it may by your disc. I had a problem loading up SimCity3000 once and had the same thing happen to me as you say happened to you. I just took out the disc, wiped it off and it worked fine. If that doesn't work then do what Tungston said.

Awww..... thanks guys. I removed all my plugins, and uninstalled the game. And it works know. Thanks so much. You guys are always so helpful !!
