I don't see a thread for this yet, but I thought I'd toss out a couple bugs I've found already:

The Religious Retreat is tagged a worship building but there is no discount on the price of it for having Missions (these give you 10% discount each to a max of 50%). I haven't found any other buildings this hasn't worked on yet.

In the same vein if you have buildings which give a discount on a certain type of don't apply this discount to the catalog. So if a build is $15,000 but you have a 50% discount on it, it doesn't apply until you select the building, which means if you only have $10,000 you can't buy it even though you have enough money because it won't let you select the building.

This isn't exactly a gameplay bug, but SCS had issues installing on the 64bit version of XP. It mainly centers around it's inability to install/update the 64bit version of .Net 2. But you can download that from the Microsoft website, install it yourself, and then install SCS without a hitch.

Game was crashing at random requiring atl-tab and shutting it down from task manager. No error code. Updating to 1.1 caused the game to fail on the loading screen requiring a hard reset to get back to windows. Running the game in windowed mode to avoid having to hard reset at least only resulted in a 'Sim City Societies has encountered an error and has had to close' error. Factor in the rather watered down game play and I wonder if perhaps the game is doing me a favour. If you're thinking about buying it, dont. Donate some cash to Simtroplis instead and get the Stex discs for SC4. Guess I'll go waste some time playing Pro Street.

Edit::

specs

Athlon 64 3700+ @2.63, 1gb dual channel OCZ Ultra, GeForce 7300 256mb (+256 turbo cache), 2x120gb SATA RAID 0

I thought I was going strong, but I had my first crash for seemingly no reason. No error, no freezing, just poof - gone.

Meh, this thing is getting trashed anyways. It was somewhat amusing for about a day...

Unluss you have a super computer from planet XENON. SCS will crash, cus it seems obviously SC4 is still installed.. I have noticed that most if not all Sim games that are loaded on at the same time, conflict with each other. So with that in mind. SCS will prolly work better for ya if you uninstall SC4. But then again, that would mean losing all your content you downloaded for SC4.... So.....Pick one. Just my experiences is all. Too many SIM contont conflict with each other.... So, I pick SC4 and stick with that.

IDEAS?

I too am hanging every few minutes (about every 10 minutes).

Sometimes I can Alt+Tab and close the game; other times I have to pull the plug.

I don't have SimCity4 installed.

Pentium 4

2.60 GHz

1022MB RAM

GeForce FX 5500, 256MB

    i'm on vista premium....

the error i got for awhile....would says something like..... "RUNTIME ERROR...c++ - the program you are running has decided to terminate in an unusual way and must be closed.... " or something like that....

i finally got that error to stop but dunno how.....

now it just hangs like ..... 30mins. to an hour....sometimes when autosaving..... or rotating the screen - or just sitting there really - ....

i've noticed that it's a memory hog. - it got up to 1700mbs ram at one point! that's 1.7GB ram..... i put in a flash drive as a ready boost and it still did the same thing - i could close out of the game that way - and my computer itself was only using 300 of it.....

all my drivers are updated... everything that shouldn't be open is closed.....

    internet unplugged....everything!

i'm almost wondering if it installed wrong or something or what? - i defragmented and checked for disk errors before installing - so the system was prepped....

it's just amusing since i have no crashes on other games - even when some are graphically intense....and memory hogs.

the RUNTIME c++ error represents an error in the programing of the game itself.....

the game really isn't that bad - it's just annoying playing a big city (only around 30,000 people so far) and having it crash more often as the city enlarges....

oh - and i have a brand new graphics card 512mb for that - plus.....my computer adds another 700 some to it! so essentially 1200mb video!

rollercoaster tycoon 3 works on this computer - and it's very intense graphics with tons of movement just like this....

i turned down most of the graphics options in SCS to test if it would improve performance ......... doesn't help!
