Realistic Airports

Hey everyone, and I think I posted this question a time ago.

Anyways, I have seen a lot of people's airports on their cj's. I'm wondering what files 2 download to get a realistic airport sizes, terminals, and plane sizes. What files? Also, is there a modd that makes the capacity of an international airport higher? Any help or links are appreciated.

I have voltaire's and ace's i think those are the ones that most people use!by the way are you going to make an airport in your cj?

Well, first of all, should I search "Voltaire" and "Ace" on the STEX?

I might, if it ever gets to be a good population for it. Maybe a municipal in the rural areas.

Yes, I love ACE's stuff....747s and smaller jets of lots of different liveries.......great terminals

So basically, when you download a terminal, does it show when you plop the Airport? And is it just for International? Or do you have to plop the airport first and then plop the terminal?

Simply download all files... first of all RIMP... these are the Taxiways and Runways

no, you have to piece your airport together like a puzzle.

it's giving you headache, but therefore the result is astonishing.

there're only few restrictions to what you can do so a very realistic and, maybe the most important thing, individual airport is what you get once you've finished the puzzle

So you download all the files then create your airports in the lot editor?

The files are plopable pieces. You find every piece in the airport menue and can build custom airports / airport terminals

Edit: wait! if its just a bunch of plopped towers and terminals, does the game recognize it as an airport?

no, it doesn't (at least from what I found) they seem to be only eyecandy....

they're not only Eyecandy... when you take a look at the transportation map in regional view, you can see, that the buildet airports are showed as airports... but thats all.

basically its just eyecandy, but some lots offer the function of an airport (like a bus terminal in one of the older sets, or a tower in one of the newer sets) so you have the city-effect of an airport seperated from the visual airport.

in the region's traffic view, the custom airport surely appears as an airport, but it's not necessarely handled as one (like the standard airports of the game) because it's hard to balance the code to stay in a realistic functionality.

therefore, the above mentioned lots where created. so if you want your airport to be handled as one in-game and not just look like one, you gotta make sure to get these files (unfortunately im not sure which particular set they came with, but I they definitely exist)
