    Teaser

Ugh, I hate spam in the forums... Here's a teaser to keep ya'll afloat

    jeylincityritzyburbsjv6.jpg

In a city built on legalized gambling, there has to be some rich peeps...

Now go forth and comment, my children (lol)!

    ~ Dan

EDIT: Hey, hey! We're on page 4! WOO HOO!! 39.gif

You have built a killer city. Excellent work!

Let no one yield, we're on the field where deeds eclipse the sun; where the brave are told on a thread of gold, the tapestry is spun. As they speak of dreams, their armor gleams, this calm before the storm... Where all can see their destiny, the bishop takes the pawn.

The elevation changes are done very naturally and smoothly. Only problem is that all those people have to live so close to a highway and rail tracks. Still, thanks for the teaser!

very nice teaser! you make good use of those retaining walls 4.gif your attention to detail is good too with the fences and trees. the big wall between the tracks and houses is also a realistic detail, dont want trains derailing in your backyard 2.gif

    2nerdy4u (1st post): Thanks!

hijodecordoba (1st post): You're welcome, my friend! As for the transportation hub, I borrowed the setup from Atlantic City's train

                                               station.

    atlanticcitynk0.jpg

It is set back from the boardwalk, as space in the core of the city is scarce. Thanks for dropping by!

suplado! (1st post): Thanks! As you'll see by this update's title, the skyline will soon change...

suplado! (2nd post): I thank you again!

manticorefan: Always nice to see a new face in here... Thanks for commenting!

hijodecordoba (2nd post): It is always better to co-exist with Mother Nature than to test her...

2nerdy4u (2nd post): Thanks, man! Where I live, people live extremely close to the railroad tracks and highways just like that, so

that's another tribute to my town!

granto93: Thanks for noticing all the details! Just the smallest things can make a big difference...

Orlandoedwin640: Welcome to the Republic, man! I'm glad you are liking what you are seeing so far...

    Update 9- The Ever-Changing Skyline

    jeylincityoceanavenuesihr4.jpg

Here is another of Jeylin City's construction sites that we'll be focusing on...

    jeylincityoceanavenuesinc6.jpg

Eminent domain was used on the small shops along the Boardwalk. They received reparations for their businesses.

    jeylincityoceanavenuesihm9.jpg

Now the site has progressed quite a bit more in the past few months. We'll soon see what will arise...

    jeylincitybuildingskelecp7.jpg

You might remember this site from the last update. Well, here's what it looks like now...

    jeylincitylakeshoreviewuj4.jpg

Wow, isn't that a pretty sight?

    jeylincitylakeshoreviewvg3.jpg

Here's an excellent night shot of the new building.

    jeylincitydemolitionjk3.jpg

This site was only in the demolition phase last time we checked it. But now...

    jeylincityaquamalldayyb2.jpg

Hey, that was quick! The construction workers knocked out this site very quickly.

    jeylincityaquamallnitecn3.jpg

And a pulled-back night shot of the two newest additions to the city.

This concludes update 9! The next update should be on either Tuesday or Wednesday. Thanks again for reading!

I completely understand the time issue. I haven't updated my CJ in 2.5 weeks.

Well, great shots. Definitely Maxis, but you've pulled it off well. And I absolutely love the overview pic. I'm looking forward to seeing an updated skyline soon, after all these new buildings.

All I have to say is: amazing. I've been working very hard toward building at masterpiece like this, but it is extremely time consuming.

Yours is inspiring. I think tomorrow will be 'start working on a masterpiece' day for me as I don't have to work.

2nerdy4u (1st post): Thanks for appreciating my work!

    hijodecordoba (1st post):

I know, the nightlights look awesome, but my opinion is a little biased... 22.gif

    suplado!:

The timeframe for construction of the buildings is actually two (sim) years, but I never show the time in between. It just

quickens the pace to my liking...

    Viscount:

Thank you for commenting! I'm glad you like (love) my CJ!

    Markus J:

Yeah, it certainly has been a building boom in the city. Always a pleasure when you drop by! 44.gif

    Schulmanator:

Thank you! It took a lot of time searching the STEX and other sites for those buildings.

    2nerdy4u (2nd post):

Well, I've found time today to update this baby, so enjoy, my friend! 10.gif

    hijodecordoba (2nd post):

    Your wish is my command...

    sicarim:

Hey, I'm honored that your 1st post is in my CJ! I thank you and I'm glad you feel inspired by my work! By the way, it is now

                 time for...

    Update 10- The New Resort

    jeylincityoceanavenuesihm9.jpg

Before I show the resort, I'll get you up-to-speed on a newly-completed site. Here it is before...

...and after. It is the new Jeylin Hotel, a beautifully executed structure. The next two pics are some pretty night shots of the hotel.

Fantastic update! I especially like the way you've put together that resort. All of the buildings form a nice curve around that roundabout. And that is one beautiful roundabout filler!

magnificent update! the beachfront goes better and better, although the new building seems a little bit too slim next to the other. But i like all of the highrises and your nightlights.

what impresses me a lot, is your resort. it's absolutly beautiful. well chosen buildings

    City Overview

I thank everyone for their kind comments! Formal replies will, as always, take place on my next update. Right now, I thought I'd "treat" ya'll to a city overview (the parts you haven't seen yet).

    jeylincitycityoverview1fb9.jpg

    jeylincitycityoverview2td4.jpg

I also have a request to anyone out there who'll listen. I'm looking to create a new banner and signature for my CJ, but I suck at photo editing. If anyone would like to give it a shot, they are more than welcome to reply with their creations. Thanks in advance!

    Whoa!

your city is simply great! It's just like you have a bit of everything!

Or at least, of everything I like!!!

    Things I like very much:

    - The entrance square with the pillar

    - The using of monuments and rewards, really well done!

    - Green! Parks and green makes a city a more beautiful place to live in!

    - Great use of geometrics (such as the four diagonal buildings around one square)

    - Love the yards! I like to show the working in my cities too!

    - I like the usage of different levels (sunken, lower, higher, tunnels...)

    - Beautiful stations

    - Nice beaches, oh my god, you have also the beaches 1.gif And the seawalls are nice

    - Great use of lakes and canals.

Make sure my ShinRa Corp doesn't see your city... they could like it as much and decide to invade it 4.gif

Or at least they may just request you a twinship!

There are a few things I'd really like to see:

    - A map of your public transport network (exchange nodes, subway lines, tramway, railway, bus terminals)

    - An aerial view of the city (did I miss it?)

Keep up the good work! 4.gif

    Cloud.
