Can't build a bridge

I cant build a bridge (avenue), it should be a connection with an island which is quite distant from the other shore, does someone know what to do? (maybe the problem is a too shallow shore?)

The terrain elevation could be the problem. Are you trying to make a diagonal bridge?

Ahh...how big is the island? Just wondering, because sometimes bridges need a fair amount of space before they'll build, especially if the two shores are of different elevations. Maybe you need more space for the bridge to level out? Or maybe you don't have enough money to build it if you want it that big? It could be a number of things. Still...I'd make sure that the shores were are at least close in elevation. And could you post a picture of the body of water you're trying to cross?

sorry, I dont know how to put an image here, it should be a straight bridge, not diagonal, it says "cannot place network on this terrain type", so I may have to do some terrain corrections, but what concretely?

It could be the steepness of the terrain, or the elevation. Try starting farther back from the water, and going farther inland on the island, or vise-versa.

If you want to post a picture, when you're in the Reply window, click the little yellow icon with the mountain. That'll bring up the Add Image box. Then where it says URL, just place the base url of the picture (no tags or anything), and if you need to, change the width and height to 800 and 600 px. respectively (that's the largest it can be on these forums, but you don't need to change it if it's smaller than that). Then click OK, and voila! Your picture's right there!

To get the right url, you'd have to click on the picture so that it shows only the pic itself on the page and copy that url to use in the image box (it has to end in .jpg, .gif, .png, or something to indicate that it's a picture).  Here's your picture:

I think the problem you're running into while trying to build that bridge is that you have stuff in your way (like the avenues and the grass).  I'd delete the roads and tiles on both shores around where you want to build your bridge.  If you still can't build it, delete a bit more.  Hopefully this will be enough to get your bridge built.
