One last hint: *coughnukescough* Oh my, my asthma must be acting up again. Oh, Nerd, what was the point of that? Last hint before the next picture is posted.

It was Ukraine. Sorry if some of my hints were obscure, I'm a little new to this. Anyway, next picture:

Hmmm... I'd better be smart this time and wait for a few hints...

Rocky coastline, North American Style license plates... I'm gonna have to say Mexico here. Probably somewhere along the Pacific Coast.

    Other points:

vilbe: The I-287 interchange is exit 26. But no, that's not where it is. That's approaching the Bruckner Interchange in the Bronx (exit 1). One highway which goes there is I-278. Perhaps you made an accidental transposition?

2nerdy4u: The one guess rule is not per picture, but per hint. After a picture is posted, you are only allowed one guess until a hint is given. After each hint, you can guess again. So you are not employing good strategy by waiting for a few hints before guessing. In fact, it's poor strategy.

I'm going to diagram this out:

    -picture posted

    -one guess permitted

    -hint given

    -one guess permitted

    -next hint given

    -one guess permitted

    etc.

And no, the guesses do not stack. If you don't make a guess until after a hint is given, you are not permitted two.

If you always take the same road, you will never see anything new.
If you can read this, you deserve a cookie.

Hint time: Duke is the closest. However, for this particular highway, you must be as specific as possible.

Hmm... rocky... on the coast... traffic jam... this looks a lot like the Sea-to-Sky Highway in British Columbia, but somehow I know it isn't.  This doesn't look like British Columbia at all--could be route 1 in Western California somewhere near Cambria...

That is Alaska. It is in the mid/late 90s because that car in back is the Saturn EV1 which was a pure electric car that was KILLED by GM. They repo'ed every one of them and destroyed them and the blueprints.

And that's not a traffic jam, they are parked on the side of the road.

That was California. Pacific Coast Highway, to be exact. That was the Hybrids Across America thing. Anyways, next picture:

    Could this one be Ohio?
