note to administrators: i thought the 600 x 800 pictures would be okay because they it's basically 800 x 600 backwards, if not, please let me know 4.gif

I have just returned from a two week long trip to my hometown of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I had an absolutely fantastic time, with loads of funny stories to tell. I photoshopped a batch of about 50 pictures for you all, every single one taken by me. To see all the images [un-edited and original], Head over to my flickr! 4.gif Let's get started:

First, Here is a picture of the quiet street of my family's home:

...and the large avenue located nearby with an excellent view of Christ the Redemmer:

crazyyaya: Me too 9.gif Rio also has an awesome mix of prehistoric history and modern day society aswell that is so awesome!

C0ckatoo: Yep, the cliffs are indeed very steep, especially corcovado [the mountain where christ is located], can you beleive a road and tram line go all the way to the top? I hadn't seen trees like that because here where I live in Florida, all the big trees got knocked down during Hurricane Wilma, so all we have is naked palm trees.

    Mike the Mayor: Thank you!

patriots_1228: Yeah, It's was so cool looking at Rio from Pedra Bonita and Sugarloaf Mountain, you could hear the waves crashing, and you know when you're far up in sc4 and you hear the wind and what not, It sounded just like it in real life. Rio was never a planned city and just grows sporadically anywhere there's no mountains, I personally like it though. Cheers!

Very beautiful indeed. I may not be Christian, but I love that Christ statue. Its like a guardian of the city. The connection between the earth and the heaven. Beautiful.

Those are great! Kind of like Honolulu in a way...it's amazing how much a focal point Christ the Redeemer is in the city, you can really see it from everywhere! I'm guessing right now how many pictures you took altogether...I think I like the Centro pictures the best, but they're all good.
