I'm trying to create a Jollibee's restaurant, commonly found in the Philippines, for my filipino cities. I would very much appreciate any comments and/or help you'd like to give me.

Here is a preview of my work so far:

testrender.jpg

Obviously I haven't started texturing or lighting yet. I'm almost done applying the window frames and window dividers. The dimenstons are 24 wide, 12 deep, and 10 tall (all in meters).

Here is a couple of representative Jollibees for reference, though I am specifically not trying to re-create either

(above is a really large one in Baguio)

(above is a more medium sized one)

Silur, he's already said that he hasn't started texturing.

jpops, It's looking good so far.  I would pay more attention to the overhang in the front though, it's looking too simple.  There's got to be something more to in real life than two boxes and two cylinders.  But overall it's looking good.  1.gif

I think it's an improvement.  Another thing you can do, is add some short edging.  That entire shape is probably not one solid object in real life.  It is probably some kind of roof thing with a more finished edging on it.

On the bottom picture, you can see those overhangs.  I'd do something like that.

I've never heard of Jollibee's, but I love the fun feeling they capture with their stores! Since this is your first BAT, try pushing yourself and work at creating the same fun feeling! There are a few odd shapes thrown in there, so this is a great opportunity to see what you're capable of! So far you've got the right idea! (LOL, and you figured out the render also! LOL, when Jason Cw asked me to post a preview render I went, "What's that and how do I do it?" Hahaha.) Keep working at it!

Thanks again for all your kind words. I have basically finished it, with just a few small tweaks I'll be ready to export it and play around with it in the lot editor.

Here are some (semi) final looks at it:

The views are East/West at top, and South at bottom.

TOOPS. Sorry, here are thin in game pics. Thanks again for your praise everyone. To patriots_1228 Jollibee is the filipino version of chuckie cheese, cool of you to pick up on that. I've got a couple of in-game pics below:

    Night.
    jollibeeNight.jpg

The lot is a bit basic, because I just wanted to test it out in-game for proportions and style. All in all I'm pretty happy with it.  I also need to mod it, as it is Landmark only now. Hopefully I will have time next week to finish it and upload it.

.pngs don't show up for Internet Explorer on Simtropolis.  It's better to use .jpgs.

I think it turned out nice, but the colors are too saturated.  I would desaturate them a little to fit in with the game better.  The colors are naturally very cartoony, but for the game they should be toned down.

Building's looking great, jpops. I like! I agree with what Jasoncw said, though. Zoom out a couple steps, and see if you can see a bright yellow spot in the middle of your commercial district, if you can, might need to tone down the colors.

And if you haven't already checked out the roof texturing tutorial in his signature, you should have a look... that'll take your building from great to spectacular.

I did forget to convert the pics to jpg format, sorry.

Jasoncw and benvoliothefirst it is a bit bright, but I think i'll keep it that way, cause that is kind of the essence of Jollibee, it' loud and bright and you can see it for miles away in the Philippines9.gif

As an aside, it's been rewarding to receive the compliments of some of the very talented people in this group. Thanks again!

Well I finally uploaded Jollibee to STEX. Glad to be done with the bright colors9.gif. My next project will definately have to be something a lot less kid-like and something with steel and glass. I'm thinking a mall (filipinos love their malls). Anyway, here's the final in-game pics.

Below are some of my first stabs at batting, just for giggles

Thanks again for your comments and support.

PS: Simrabbit, I wanted to learn how to mod myself, but perhaps I'll take you up on your offer for future projects.

walang anuman richard24. I live in Chicago, but get to the Philippines once a year.

My next project is an SM mall, similar to the Mega Mall. I'm happy to fill the void and make more pinoy bats. Other projects I want to work on :

    Quiapo Church and surrounding marketplace
    Manila City Hall
Other filipino restos like chowking, shakey's
    A baywalk lot
    Spanish colonial homes
    Videoke bar (for sure!)
    San Augustin church
    NAIA (Manila airport)

There are more, but if anyone has specific request feel free to drop a note. I'm going to open a new thread specifically for my pinoy bats so keep checking back for more.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again, maraming salamat (many thanks) for all the help I've received on this site, especially Jason's tutorials. It's been very reassuring to recieve compliments and suggestions from some of the best.
