Welcome, all, to this next update! This update will really cover up some stuff I did while I wasn't able to send you any letters...

    Hope you all enjoy!

    Continued from the last update....

We (Earl, Jack, and Bruce) stopped by a lonely, eerie highway to camp for the night, while it was freezing cold outside. Oh, how much I wanted a cup of hot chocolate!

Anyway, the next day, we got up, had some bread, and continued on our desperate search to look for a safe village to evacuate to.

So far, after traveling tens of miles, we had no luck. Time was running out, and any day now that military base could find our only home.

Early in the moring, though...we encountered some fog. Yes, lots and lots of fog. I swear, we weren't able to see anything a couple feet from us.

But then, while we were walking off the side of the road, we heard some...no, many noises coming near us. It was like...like some type of heavy semi-trailer truck roaring past our way.

They were army tanks. Quite a few of them as well.

I freaked. But at the same time, I had an idea.

"Hey!" I whispered to my group. "Follow those tanks! See where they go!"

"Are you freaking crazy?" sead Jack. But for he minute he had a face of thinking, and soon he said,"Fine. But if we get caught, get our heads caught off, then get burned, I swear I will never talk to you again."

    "Deal."

We silently plodded along the road, as the tanks were trudging by. Soon, they lead to a small military base...

    Finally. Civilization still exists.

Of course, we didn't walk there as if we were a couple of guys walking down a New York street. We silently and carefully tip-toed our way through the military base.

But our lucky luck just ran out (if there was any left, anyway).

"YOU!" shouted a firm voice. A tall, strong-looking man came over toward us.

"Where are you guys from?" he said, demandingly.

"Uh...um...-" I begin, 'till Jack cut me off.

"We are distant travelers, looking for a safe place."

"Oh, really?" the man said. A couple other soldiers began to surround us. "Well, lucky for you boys, there's a small town up this road. Has all sorts of stuff. A bit on the rough side, but I think you boys won't go so bad in a place like that."

    "Where are we?" Bruce asked.

    That's when everyone laughed.

"Hey look, the man's not kiddin'!" said a soldier.

"Man, your in south Canada, near Toronto. Unfortunatly, that place is not safe no more. It's gone, pal. Just follow that road, and it'll lead you to that town i was talking about."

"Thanks," we all said, as we began to move.

We first encountered what seemed to be a large forest, but then the road ran into a hill and before we knew it, we were in a tunnel.

[note, the above picture is when we exited the tunnel.]

Just as the soldier said, we did come across a town. It was really small, but defintly not as small as our little village.

We soon checked into a small motel near the center of town, and we came back out again to explore the town: [i took some pictures]

Below is the center of town (with our motel appearing on the top-left corner witht he blue windows):

Yay! Glad to see that this CJ is back. You have been weaving an interesting little tale, even if it has taken a few breaks. Well, I'll be waiting for the next letter to see where our heroic group ends up next.
