Hi everybody.

Hi thought a few days ago that I would try a new construction style and that I would use GLR. So I downloaded the new NAM version and installed it, and also the NAM original GLR textures. I also downloaded a few Glr Stations.

Now I've got several problems.

- when I click on the icon where the GLR pieces are and scroll down, some elements don't appear. - meaning there is just no picture, but when I have the mouse over, I get the text, and if I click I can place it.

Stranger still, if I keep scrolling down, they will eventually appear, but then the small picture is two places above where it should be....

-I prefer the GLR which looks less like a train. I thought the NAM textures would take care of this, but no. I've got some pieces but not all.

-what is the use of the draggable GLR pieces and how to use it ?

Thank you

I can relate to the 1st problem, I believe it is because of the draggable GLR station fix. If you don't have the actual stations, they don't appear. I fixed this by just taking it out. Puzzle pieces crash my game anyway, so i don't use GLR.

WackoJak is right about the GLR Stations patch. If you install it, and don't have any of the stations that it fixes, it will put blank items in your menu. Only install the plugins that modify the stations that you do have installed.

I'm not so sure I understand your second problem so well. Are you saying you can't find all the pieces for creating a GLR network? If so, then when you select the GLR tool from the menu, you will need to press TAB in order to cycle through the many options before you find the puzzle piece you need.

Draggable GLR works exactly as it sounds. You plop the Draggable GLR piece, then use the Maxis EL-Rail tool to drag from one end of the piece. The Draggable GLR also has a TAB ring that gives you a variety of starter pieces.

Thanks for the answer. I'll have to download some stations. But I've got 3 items that don't appear but on top of that, when scrolling, when the following items appear, the icons are at the wrong place. I tried moving the plugin folders to find what those 3items are but couldn't find it. The name is "PS1x1_Grass_4ab05a13" No idea what it is. they look just like barriers around grass. if anyone has an idea about it ...

For the draggable GLR pieces, I can just plop them. after that I just have to plop other pieces to build the GLR.

For my 2nd question : there are two sets of textures for the rails. one set that looks quite like the train textures, and another one (el goalio and ebina) that shows only two parallel lines. Not all the pieces are using the second set.

It's probably because you have files in your plugins (the draggable GLR stations patch files) that modify files that don't exist on your system yet.

Plop the draggable piece, and then DRAG from it using the EL RAIL tool, much like you would when building a road or street. It does away with the need to create a GLR network by plopping pieces.

I have no idea what you're talking about with the textures. Maybe some pictures would help.

I took some shots. Here they are (all on the same pic) with explanation for the menu problem and the GLR Style.

If anybody knows what the PZ are so that I can remove them...

Ok, first of all, make sure you don't have any GLR Stations patches still in your pugins folder. Any at all. Remove all GLR stations as well.

If that doesn't work, it's possible that you have a NAM version conflict. Go through your plugins folder and delete ALL items that might relate to the NAM. ALL items. Then reinstall the latest NAM. If that doesn't fix it, you have a conflicting transit mod somewhere that you need to find.

As for the GLR textures, the textures you want are what I get when I install the core NAM without the Original GLR Track Textures Patch. Make sure you don't have that installed.

Because you're getting two different versions of GLR, it leads me to believe you have a NAM version conflict. Going through your plugins and resolving the conflict should fix your issues.

I get the exact same problem with the missing icons on the catalogue bar, but in the rail menu. When i want to select a certain station, the icons to click on it are two or three spaces below the picture... its very weird but i have learnt to live with it.

also, when i use GLR, if i hover the piece over a glr, el or subway station piece, my game just shuts down. I heard that this just happens, but is there any way of stopping it ?!

I still can't work out how to use the draggable pieces, but that's not too bad. I build it piece by piece.

That was my problem. I uninstalled NAM and all GLR reinstalled NAM and then the GLR stations. I think badly installing the NAM GLR stations patch may have been part of the problem, though.
