Sorry, but no Chap lap Kok today, instead- Tai Po!

The Tai Po district is about a 15-30 minute KCR train ride north of Kowloon and is located in Hong Kong's new territories. Up until about the 70's Tai Po was just a rural sort of town until the population started to rise and Hong Kong was forced to build Hi Rises out in the New Territories. Today it has a kinda dirty (Almost slum) mid rise town center (mostly markets and low wealth shops), with a few remaining rice fields out the back which are quickly being taken over by hi-rise residential giants. Some images?

Thanks for being patient- I have to split my time now 50/50 between BATing Hong Kong and re-creating Hong Kong. By the way, I'm working on a 'Hong Kong street pack' for a BAT project. Almost done 2 out of about 8 BAT's that'll be in the pack. The first is in the 3rd and 4th image above- see it?

    EDIT:  Here are your replies:

    ---PAGE 9---

Hijodecordoba:  Oh thanks for such a nice comment! I’m sure with enough practice and patience anyone could do what I’m doing.

KamiKaZantA:  Haha, thanks, glad you think so!

    TRNSTN:  How about no?

    ---PAGE 10---

    Hijodecordoba:  Yea, they really do!

Suplado:  Thanks! That is very old now… almost embarrassing…

Garby85:  Thanks, glad you like it.

Juningo:  Yep, the Chinese Peoples Liberation Army Forces Building HK. I just use the old name because it’s shorter and easier to remember.

Mike the Mayor:  Actually I think that BAT was from SC3000, someone re-did it.

Cleaner475:  Wow, thanks. Glad you like it!

Tankmank:  Yea, I just plopped it in. There is an easy way to create enough demand to grow Bixel’s ‘monsters’: Just wait until you have an area of high rise residential that you don’t really want in your city (Maybe all up 20,000 people) and just demolish it. It will skyrocket the demand and you’ll be growing them in no time! Also make sure you have the correct zone sizes- there’s a thread in the HKABT team room for that.

Bixel:  Hey thanks for this- I’ll have to get back to t

Is that the Tin Heng Estate in the 5th picture ??

I believe it should be in Tin Shui Wai (another New Territories' town)

It doesn't really matter though. Buildings are all similar in new towns of Hong Kong

Holy cow. . . BATting Hong Kong and recreating Hong Kong. Looks like you got your work cut out for you. Good luck!

As for the update, it's freakin' amazing! The buildings never looked better (even the flea markets!).

are the trams in your CJ the same as the ones in RL

little fact: HK has most of the scottish trams still in service from the 1950-60s both trams from edinburgh and glasgow some even retain their original livery orange and green or maroon and white

Cool! I never read it because I assumed it would be a collection of random high-rises.... You put serious effort into this.

Those double highways look very nice! I would assume that both railroad and highway get massive amounts of traffic. The mix of buildings is just fantastic... not bland at all. The low-rise transition to skyscrapers is good. That last night picture looks amazing! Keep it up!

Hi Guys, not really much of an update today.

I've just been updating the Central Plaza area a little bit and added one of my own HK BAT's to add more realism. Here's the new pics:
