    unfortunately guys there will not be another update tonight as I built the town but it did not look right unfortunately so I started again

    Wow that city looks very good! Very rural-ish... it cathes the feel. Nice church... it looks like one of those Oblivion chapels. 9.gif

    OK someone hit me when I next say there won't be an update I've said it twice in a week then come up with an update

    This is Verdina Lake north of Boppard. I was going to do the river mouth where there will be a large town but it hasn't worked yet

    this is the village on the edge of the lake. The land is fertile here and farmland hugs the banks of the lake and river

    This is crawley pass very hard and scary road to drive on. There is at least one death a month here

    going towards the lake though the views become more pleasent and you don't have to concentrate on the road so much

    you eventaully end up here by the river to turn right or left

    turn right and theres more flat fertile land and tranquil veiws to look at

    turn left however and you could fall into the lake

    Interestingly I have just noticed the lake is in the shape of an arrowhead

    When you enter the town you will go past this formation of stones which no one knows what they are but there have been some daggers found there for example

    Hi guys last couple of days I have been working on the next update and its the town I have talked about in Sudtenland. I can tell you that there is a football club, harbour and suburban areas

    Its only a preview tonight and tommorow at 9pm english time there will be a 15 pic update

    OK guys there will be an update tonight although I said there wouldn't be. The flooding as I had been writing was getting worse but only 2hrs after receded again before it started flooding my house so no problems there. Over the last 2 days though I have been prepearing a tutorial for my rural areas and that will be the update tonight. My way of giving something back to simtropolis

    yeah use dusktroopers that will enable you to block all low wealth residential so only the houses and small apartments.

    OK guys here is the tutorial

    This tutorial is going to tell you how I make my rural areas and inside there are tips on how small changes vastly improve your rural areas

    Firstly start a map and make it look interesting with maybe hills or mountians

    I will use this map first zone every part of flat or flattish land with agriculture zone. No roads at all yet. So use shift

    On coastlines make sure there are no single sqaures of the zone along the coast. If there is dezone it

    Next you need to first drag your main roads. I have a coastal road and 2 going through the mountians

    Then using the dezone tool make your individual farms. Vary size and shape some can be quite sqaure and some very random shapes

    You may need to build some streets to get to farms not connected to a main road

    Next you need to make the hedgerows and you can do this by either using the tree tool on god mode using the cheat ctrl shift and alt or PEG tree lots

    Next find an area on the map where you want the central settlement then dezone it and destroy the trees. Then mark the main roads in it

    Then zone it adding streets where needed and you should have something simaler to above

    AFTER THIS YOU CAN START BUILDING FROM NOW ON IS EYECANDY

    Next dezone and destroy trees in an area it dons't need to be near the settlement. Level the area using the leveler tool in mayor tools

    Then using the PEG stream kit to make a lake more creative than mine hopefully and surrond it with trees

    On a highpoint you can add a radio mast and/or a observatry. Remember the road going up needs some twisty bits then it looks realistic

    You can also add PEG logger cottages as these can be isolated dwellings

    Dont forget power!!!! Add some wind turbines or solar panels at random around the map. Around 10 for a large map

    THEN LET THE AREA DEVELOP AND YOU SHOULD END UP WITH SOMETHING LIKE THIS

    I just plop a bunch of farm tiles because I can't get agriculture to grow anymore. And, I get more variety that way. But, you have good ideas for getting the housing to grow. I am adding some new rural areas soon!
