Hello again to evryone for my second cj. My last cj was the republic of eschtenberg. This region was ok but unfortunately went very wrong very quickly so I took this as an excuse to start a new region which will hopefully be better. I've learnt my mistakes so I hope you enjoy this cj

So far I've only done the terraforming so next update will be quite soon but here are some pics of the region unspoiled by humans.

I'll also take this as an oppurtunity to say the republic of eschtenberg thread is closed.

    like what?

If you want more I suggest the STEX's farming section (search for farming or scroll down to find the 'categories' button and select farming) also if you cruise over to SC4Devotion and hop on the LEX there is some files there too.  Choose carefully and read the readmes because there are usually a ton of dependancies (Its a pain but if they work its definitley worth it).

PS Ratislava is an awesome name. No jokes.

The regions looks normal for maxis...but once you put some farms on the farms...they come alive....alot of people have trouble working with farms on the hills and such...I'll admit it is tough...but close up and far away...your farms look great!

I like the downloads and how you kept the original maxis farms...do try to use more trees, but other then that....

    Great start!

Great start. I love developing rural areas and the more farm variations the better. I agree with 'snotbowst', there are heaps of farms on the STEX but you really need to keep track of what prop packs you have downloaded as there are lots of dependencies. However it is worth it if you want to improve your rural areas.

Just a couple of suggestions, you don't need to surround a farm by roads, as long as one side or part of one side has road access you can plop trees around the other sides to seperate the farms. A lot of roads are not necessary in a rural setting as the job levels are pretty low.

Also if the terrain permits, try to include some lakes or irrigation canals. In my opinion this will help you achieve even more realistic rural areas. Anyway, just a suggestion, hope this helps and look forward to more.

    Cheers

    Dave

Thank you for the comments everyone:

Godzillaman: thanks for the encoraugement I would love to live there to

Amerikaner: Thanks I didn't know farming was very popular but the cj will be a mixture of urban and rural.

jacqulina: Thanks but what do you mean by cramming in. Is this the times between the update or how much is in a city tile?

snotbowst: Thanks I have found some more farms and a couple made it into my next creation although not as much as I would have wanted. Do you know why?

Cjah: Thanks I think it looks good to now and my next city tile has got more trees in it and nows looks great

powerdc: Thanks for the comment and I have taken Snotbowst's advice. I read your comment though after I had finished my next tile and so you'll have to wait to see your advice take effect. I will now sepaerate farms with trees more and there will be some lakes around the area aswell.

Ok to keep you updated later there will be an update and it will be of the small town of Ganser which has a railway and industry and still lots of farming. It's on the river and its the largest settlement so far. Also i changed my rock mod to a browny red colour which works better than the grey i had before.

Hey! I really like this cj. It's very realistic. It's almost eyecandy. I may even put this in my sig! Lol. Great work with the town center, and especially the hills. The hand-terraforming adds a nice touch.

Ok hi everyone this is the town of Gansner which has about 10000 inhabitants

    gansner24apr12118060938uh2.jpg

This shows the solar panels powering the town and the water pump in this small forest. Bridge I thought was a nice touch and just below the pic is the cricket club

    gansner1jun121180609522tj8.jpg

This shows the industry in the town and the railway and roads going across the river

    gansner6may121180609452em9.jpg

This shows the whole town and the railway running through some farmland at the top of the pic

    gansner12jun12118060957or7.jpg

This shows the bend in the river and farmland all round and some forest

    gansner15apr12118060933lo6.jpg

The railway going through town. As well as exporting freight form the industry area it also commutes sims who park their cars at the stations then board a train when at the industry zone they board as bus to work. To make them do this I tolled the bridges

    An overview of the town

I hope you enjoyed this, lots of feedback please. Next update tonight

your river water mod is also VERY NEAT, i love how it looks

also heres a tip when taking pictures close the whole bar, then press Ctrl Shift s i think and it brings up the pics without that use of the toolbar, i find it very helpful
