Project: Nuked York

The Downtown project has elevated crime in the region, scaring people back to the east, especially Capitol Farms.









To fix this problem and motivate people to come back to the western side (and a great opportunity to get more votes), Cecil Adams has been developed a new section between the Government Sector, Capitol Farms, and Downtown.





This section, Capitol City South, seeks to promote a safe, upper class environment for those seeking a successful living.



The north-central part includes waterfront condominiums and hotels, with every ammenity needed at walking distance.



The Historic East Side is the fashion centre of Capitol City. It includes many boutiques and high class stores specifically designed for those that made it in life. It also includes many historic sights, such as old buildings that were left, and museums to educate and enrich the minds of those that have an appetite for knowledge.


The East Side also includes the new Versailles University South Campus, adding new majors to the current vast list of majors that the University currently offers.


The West Side is the business district of South Capitol City. It is also the barrier between South Capitol City and Downtown.


The South Side is where the Melrose Neighborhood is...

..and where the most luxurious mansions are.


It also includes different luxurious condominiums and ammenities, including South Park, a place for the citizens to relax from their hectic environment.

The current developments that are being cultivated throughout Capitol City will have an effect on the polls when the citizens go out to select a new leader and a new future.

Thanks to everyone for their comments and not giving up on me when I almost fell off the face of the earth. Summer is approaching and im gonna be out a lot. So if i take a while to update, dont get disappointed because I will definately be back! By the Way... does anyone know why my University (the one that came with the game), my City Hall (came with game too)... and other buildings are randomly loosing props... and putting those big ugly boxes?!?!

Cjah: As surprising as it is... I actually did. lol. It actually took me about... 2 or 3 hours to re-do downtown. Thanks for the comment! And wish one is the AMV building? I dont really know them by name.

Wow, I love all the green in the burbs and the downtown areas are looking great.  I also like the newspaper article as well....Always a nice touch.

'Bout the brown boxes....You say it's happening randomly.....Does this mean that they are there at one time and then the next time you load they're gone?....I have not idea, but perhaps you have a plugin that is messing with the others.  Have you downloaded any new lots lately?

I was just looking through this city journal, and, in pictures 8 and 9 on the last post of page 4, I saw the Sara H. Bringham hospital that I made. That's the first time I've ever seen one of my buildings in another person's city journal. Thanks, you've officially made my day.

Also, I like that newspaper idea. I'll have to do that with my journal... once I stop BATting and start it.

The current counting of the votes has not stopped the House Of The Founding Fathers...



... from developing new areas in the city. Their newest plan extends north from downtown; the Uptown Sector.









In the center of Uptown lies Uptown Park...



...which is the biggest park in the whole Capitol City area.
The northern part of Uptown...





...includes a merge between business and residential. It includes the famous Golf Community...









as well as different hill side communities.



It is also the new home of state of the art schools....





...and a brand new community college.



It seems that people are moving in to Uptown faster than us counting votes.

Wow.  I missed two updates.  As always, both were great.  I still love the postcard idea that starts each one of your updates...truely original.

The whole area...each and every area...looks great.  The newspaper idea was also a great one, one I've used before in my CJ.  Although, you did go to a little bit more effort than I did.    The university looks cool too.

 

I do have a couple of buildings I wanted to question though...in the next to last update, what is the name of the buildings which I am assuming are hotels.  They are in the pic just after the network shot of the region, just above the hospital.  They are tall and tan and orange.  The next two I wanted to know were in the last update, last picture.  The building in the middle and the one in the lower left corner.

 

Nice job.  Keep em coming...

Hey gurrgkud - Loved the update.  What really caught my eye here was the whole area around the schools.  The baseball fields, the soccer field, the tennis courts, even the intergration of the parking lots.  And alll the plush greenery surrouding just brings it to life.  Don't want to forget the golf course there either.  Great Job.

aldara6166: Thanks! I will def. keep using the postcard idea... it's sort of a trademark for my cj. And i will bring in more creative things like the newspaper idea. For the buildings, the only hotel one is the Doubletree Hotel, but the tall ones that are tan and orange, im pretty sure those came with the game... i've enabled for all types of buildings to develop at the same time. The other one, on the last update, the one in the middle is Old University by agart, and the ones in the lower left corner, one of them is Modern 4 Engine Station by Scipio, and the other one is a police station... im not sure what it is called. I hope those are the ones you meant!

After long hours of counting a plethora of votes,

the House of the Founding Fathers...

...is proud to announce that Cecil Adams...

...is Pristine's first President. The runner up, Versailles...

is up for the position of Pristine's first Vice-President. Both candidates gave a speech this morning...

...where they announced their future plans. Different reactions were received by the audience.

Some were very happy...

...while others were outraged!

After the party, Versailles went home, but Adams and his democrat supporter threw the party of the season.

The food was delicious...

...and of course, who could forget the drinks!

DUDE!!  This update is AWESOME!!  I've never seen anyone use screen shots from The Sims to illustrate their story line.  That is truely great!!  And as always, I love the story line and the newspaper idea...very fine work!!

this CJ is fantastic. It really shows a lot of time and effort, with making the newspaper and coming up with new quotes for the postcards. Probably the most unique CJ I ever read.

With Adams in office many of his promises are coming a reality. His first promise was to build an airport to reintegrate the region with the rest of the world, and to provide aid for those that weren't as lucky as Pristine; the Versailles International Airport (VIX).









The airport lies north of the Government district and west of Preston Hills. With new highways being built, the airport has easy access to the Government District and Downtown/Uptown area.

The airport has 4 terminals: A, B, C, and D.



Terminal A is the international terminal. Most of the International Flights arrive and depart from this terminal. It is the home for airlines such as Continental, British Airways, etc...



Terminal B and C are mostly for national flights. It is also the home for the most prestigious airlines such as American, Delta, United, Jet Blue, etc...



Terminal D only flies local airlines. Only flights to local places depart from this terminal.



The airport also has its own hotel, where you can get the cheapest fares in the whole Capitol City area.

The VIX has made it easier for people to move in to Capitol City. Due to the rapidly growing population, the area between the Government District and Uptown has been populated, turning into what is now known as West Point.





West Point is the home for many museums and cathedrals.





It is also the home of the Canal View Hotel, a 4 star hotel.



The northern region includes many neighborhoods to accomodate the growing population. One of the most notable neighborhoods in West Point, and Capitol City as a whole is...



...West Point Estates.



With its prestigious entrance and club house, West Point Estates separates luxury from the ordinary. West Point Estates is the home to many famous people in the area, and the home of those that are living a successful life.

gurrgkud - Wow!  All I can say is Wow.  That airport is huge...tremendous...awesome work!  It looks so cool and realistic.  My only idea would have been a cargo area...but that is just me.  It still looks good without it.  I like how the hotel and the tunnels and all come in to the center of the airport and tie it all together.

West Point is looking good.  Did I see some dead buildings in those pics?   Hopefully there isn't a problem with radiation there.

 

As always the canals look great.  And West Point Estates...that is just great.  That area is so beautiful.  I wish I was famous...well, maybe just wish I knew some famous people so I could visit there.  Any plans for a golf course there in the future?

Beautiful update all together, but what I wanted to specifically mention was that airport portion.  What a great looking and original looking airport.  I really like how your transportation network tunnels into the center of the complex.  There's even a hotel in there.  Fantastic.

That airport is really well made. Easy access, good internal road layout, services nearby. I missed a few updates, but I liked the pictures of Uptown. Interesting contrast between the high-rises and the golf community area. And the integration of the Sims was a really neat idea.
