LINCOLN, NEBRASKA

Hi there!!!

I'm proud to start this new city journal about Lincoln, the state capital of Nebraska!

For europeans, Lincoln has 250'000 people and lies ~1 hour of car from Omaha, NE.

The city is bordered on the north and west by the Salt River. The entire area is relatively flat.

Lincoln, is not only a capital, but a very important place for studies. It is the hometown of the University of Nebraska...

For more detailed facts, wikipedia offers some relatively interesting articles.

Between this new city journal and Omaha, NE I worked hard for my studies and, I've got only a few hours to play SimCity4...

For this new region, I cleaned all my Lot and BAT files, I did new ploppable LOTS for a better realism and I found some maps on Yahoo that show all the street!!! So, it would be more casuable to build this new project.

In fact, Lincoln fits on a 6 x 6 large maps, after the 11 x 9 maps of Omaha, I've decided to start something much more little... so it is much better!

Some problems appears when I started to play, like the realism of the water level... How to make small river and lakes without to have ugly slope and cliffs? So, I decided to use ploppable water (the area of Lincoln is scattered by small winding rivers)...

So here is the first picture, I'll update this page next weekend with commentary ;-)

Awesome work so far Mr.Beer. I have been through Lincoln, and Omaha on my way to see family in central Nebraska. It looks great. One question, How are you going to represent the Nebraska State Capitol Building? Keep up the great work on Lincoln, Nebraska. (I live in Kenosha, Wisconsin near the Illinois state line)

Incredible. Seeing this makes me want to scrap the region I"m building that's based off of Lincoln.

    Great work!

I work for the US Army. I go places, visit mean people, and kill them.

Winston Churchill is generall credited for saying something to the effect of: "People sleep soundly in their beds because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf". That about sums up my life, besides the "rough men" part.

Milwaukee is spelled with two "e"s not "ie". Milwaukie is in Oregon, near Portland; anyway, Chicago is great execpt for rush hour on the Interstates. I have family in a small town of Elmwood, Nebraska and it is only about 35 miles east of Lincoln. I myself been to Lincoln and the state capitol. One question, Why do a cj of a city in Nebraska, and why Lincoln? I am doing a cj and will start posting in May and it deals with the USA and Canada border then maybe of my home town of Kenosha, Wisconsin (Maybe). Well, you are doing a great job and I can't wait to see more. Take care.
