Finally! A major computer manufacturer willing to let me get the OS I want. Took 'em long enough...

I wonder if it'll drop the costs of the machines in the long run...

...so what distro do you think dell will use?

exciting, unfortuantely, HP WON'T follow in Dell's footsteps, they (apparently) hate linux for some reason.

you can also get a windows vista refund from dell.

they SHOULD use something easy like ubuntu but they'll probably end up using SuSE or RedHat.

The distro I found the best was Mandrake. Hope they use that.

Well I think this is good news overall, the more competition the better IMO. Though, I personally will be sticking with Windows for now.

Well, I heard it was proposed, but it is nice to see them act to do it.  Of course, there is the problem of SC4 not running directly on Linux.  What emulator do you prefer?

@N_O_Body: Wine. It apparently runs SC4 pretty well...and a couple other games...I wouldn't know since my linux computer can't run most of the games anyway because it's old 3.gif

I personally think they will ether add Ubuntu, SuSe linux, Fedora Core or Mandrivia(replaced Mandrake I think).

I'm not a total linux fan, but I'm learning about it. It's not that hard to use if it has a GUI...if it doesn't have a GUI...then it means you have to learn a bit more about linux and commands.
