Actually just recently in the last quarter for Microsoft the Xbox was the only shining light they had and was pretty much the sole contributer in posting them another dose of healthy profit. Add to that the recent doubling of sales in Europe due to a price drop and of course that fantastic attach rate the Xbox seems to have with games, I feel the Xbox 360's light is far from waning.

um yeah, my wife asked "turn it to the country station." and I replied "I think theyve only put Music and talk shows on it so far hun."

Maybe later we can download other stuff we want into the game file. Me, Not Country..

the driving mechanic got a little realistic. now its unwise to floor it upon entering a car [ya know like real life]. however i felt they should of added a dash view. i have a feeling more radio stations/custom tunes option is one of the things we'll be able to download in the future.

Yeah, you have to drive a bit more carefull in this one, and not take so many crazy turns and such, the coolest part with the driving is the crash sequenses though, you remember how in the old GTAs if you just barely scratched into a car,  the hood would look like it has been in a 60 kmh crash? Now it's much more realistic, if you just nudge into a car, you will get a slight dent or some scrapes on where your car hit the other other car, and if you crash hard, well it gets kinda totaled, doesn't it? I've had my entire front caved in once. it looked so real! I also like that feature that if you crash and damage one of your wheels badly, it will lock. 4.gif

I totally love how micromanaged the damage model is.

I recently, don't ask my why, parked my car on it's side, so I got out and hit the roof with the baseball bat.

gosh, it only hat scratches and dents EXACTLY where I hit it.

    plain awesome.

I like the fact cars dont always blow up, trhey sometimes just refuse to work. OR when you hit something at high speed, Niko goes flying through the windscreen.

I have not had a whole lot of time to play the game though, University is tough at the moment.

Another small detail I noticed and it made me think: "Wow, R* really thought of everything!"

When you park your car beside a post, and you open your door; instead of clipping, the door actually hits the post and you have more trouble getting out. Or exits through the other door instead.

And damn... I've got about 30% game progress... and I've played a solid 20h! There's just so much to do in this game, it's amazing!

I've been trying to find some other helicopters than the Helitour Mavericks though... no luck yet though (except that one in the mission...).

I have about 50 % and tomorrow, I have to bring my ps3 in for repairs or replacement or whatever...

it refuses to read Bluray all of a sudden, and from what I learned that's an issue similar to the ring of death of the 360, but for whatever reason a very young problem... young as in since the last firmware update.

suggests to draw conclusions if you ask me...

It's a crime against humanity to suffer Bluray failure or RROD just after GTA IV has been released, I'm surprised there hasn't been rioting in the streets from the hordes of people affected. Then again it could be a blessing in disguise by allowing those people to venture outside and discover the sun.

Ohh yeah your_adress_here if you are looking for other helicopters, you could try your luck at the Airport and take one of the Police helicopters they have there, just be warned you get a pretty high star rating once you enter so you gotta be quick.

I just got the game today, and I don't know what to say. Everything about it, is fantastic. The only thing that could have been better is the radio. Very few songs on each radio channel, and an option to turn OFF the radio would have been nice, like in SA.

I have just been reading a bit about the downloadable content for GTA IV over at kotaku.com and there is speculation that it could in fact have something to do with San Andreas as the next installment. One player was able to find an airline ticket stub in the game with Niko Bellic's name on it with San Andreas as the destination. Other references include billboards in the game advertising $299 flights to San Andreas and pedestrians on mobile phones giving reference to it. Also to further fuel the fire, all previous GTA games have in some way given reference to the sequal such as one contact in the first GTA 3 mentioning to Claude that he will "see you in Miami". It would also be good to see San Andreas with the new technology but it does beg the question, how they would put a region the size of San Andreas into the game with the new technology or if it will just be one of the 3 cities featured. Then again this could just be wishful thinking and we may only get a few extra missions, clothing items and weapons so we'll just have to wait and see.

there's plenty of reference on both Vice City and the San Andreas continuum.

which one'll be the next GTA location... idk.

But I really really doubt they'll ever break out of their traditional settings...

I thought about how a next gen Los Santos would look like so awesome like LA...

but then again, they are working on Midnight Club LA at the moment, so I doubt they have this particular city in focus for one of the next GTAs

but then again, noone really thought 4 would take place in Liberty City, until it was introduced with the 1st trailer, so...

    let's wait :-)

LMAO, where the charachter would have to hike through mountains and do more on foot missions in Canada? that would be different. "So you say someone stole yer snowmobile eh?"

I guess you could always have Mounties on horseback chasing you as well, would certainly be something different to the squad cars in the previous titles.

Monties on horses wouldn't be fun but I would buy a Canadian GTA title

Toronto or Montreal or Vancouver would make exellent place

They should have one huge city state like in SA

They can call it Grand Theft Auto: Kanata

    So folks

after a while, there's finally some good news to tell:

GTA4 officially holds 2 Guiness World Records:

    - it broke the record for overall revenue sales in the first 24 hours that was held by Halo 3 (GTA: $310million / Halo 3: $170 million)

    - it's the fasted selling piece of entertainment software with 3.6million units the first day

also, in the UK, GTA posted a new record in bandwidth usage:

the day after the release, at a daytime where games' bandwidth usage of UK internet provider PlusNet usually has 3.4% - 5%, a staggering 7.6% of bandwidth were used for online gaming.

plus, sony works on a firmware update to stop GTA4 from freezing

the Social Club 100% Challenge has been extended to may 19th (because in the first week, a mindblowing 1 gamers got 100% in 4 days and 14 hours)

you can download the soundtrack (at amazon) that came with the special edition of the game
