Bobbo662 Admin lockdown?

Can someone tell me why the majority of bobbo662's amazing Lot's are Locked down?
My pc recently got smoked by a virus or three and i had to get a new one and lost almost all of my dl'd lots & mods, and i come back to find bobbos lots locked!
could comeone explain this travesty to me
(or at least what administrative lockdown even IS)?
Please?

I've looked almost evrwhere and can't find any data on this so any input would be appreciated

My only guess is that bobbo locked them himself, though I do not know why.

Don't fret, he's simply redoing them because some of the textures are messed up or somwthing like that , thats all.

Exaxtly. One reason is that the parking lot textures he used on some of the lots (more recent ones) were found to conflict with other textures because they exceeded the ID range that was assigned to them and overlapped other creators' texture ID ranges.

The other reason is that RippleJet recently published a list of buildings (99% ploppables) that have a parent cohort assigned although it's not necessary. These downloads could theoretically cause problems like empty lots growing in your cities, or buildings growing on lots that are not made for them. AFAIR, this problem applied to some of Bobbo's older stuff at least, so he wanted to lock the files until he gets around to fixing them lest more people download something potentially problematic. They have ben locked for quite a while now, though - I guess RL issues have delayed the whole affair.

As to your question as to what an administrative lock is, it' just a fancy way of saying that either a STEX mod or the uploader locked the file for some reason.

Ok, so in the mean time who should i look at to find similiar cs$$ buildings, staples and walmart and the like?

oh one other thing, has anyone elses game crashed when they downloaded simgoobers canal set?

just wonderin, i cant use the set cause it makes my game crash right when i select play on a city.

Not mine. I have been using SG's canals rather extensively, and I never noticed any crash. Have you tried removing all plugins except for the canals and checking in a "virgin" city whether the crashes persist? If they don't it's not the canals themselves that cause them.

i come in one day looking for the white trails, i type in jeronij and only one of his lots are still there!!

Thank you T-Wrecks   - It's been brought to my attention that at times my buildings would not show up in the game, causing empty lots without buildings.  Ripplejet has been kind enough to help me correct this problem.  So, I locked up all my BATs and I'm working as fast as I can fixing them, plus I want to re-texture them, and fix light leaks - etc, etc.

I had no clue he was BSC affliated.....

Good thing i already have the majority of his work...I would never disrespect ST by going on that slimmy,nasty SC4BSC site.....

@Cjah...just thought I'd point out that the BSC site is hosted on Jeronij's site...so...basicly...he simple moved his files..to his site...

@Bobbo662: when do you think your lots will be back up? I was meaning to redownload Rainbow foods since I couldn't get it to work .

I love your work on STEX btw...it really makes my cities feel realistic.

Thanks Rymac91 - right now I'm working on the Texaco gas station, redoing the whole design - the Rainbow foods, I'm totally revamping as well (texture, and style - and resizing it).  I'll work on that one next after Texaco.

No problem 66'Goat - I just recently joined the BSC Team, so I've been working extra hard in trying to better myself in the BATting arena - and therefore I've started a forum over at SC4D http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=621.0 - so I'll be uploading there of course at BSC's LEX, it will be easier to keep track if there's questions or problems that need to be taken care of.
