STORY:

    Chapter 1: Land Ho!

It was a sunny morning. Captain Jonathon Swenshyon woke up, walked out of his cabin, and consulted his head cartographer. He was about to ask him how many leagues they had traveled so far when the cry came.

"LAND HO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Jonathon looked up to see Timothy, one of the crew members, standing wide-eyed in the crow's nest. He looked over to see what he was looking at. Guess what?

Crossrivers-1168212370.jpg

The southwest corner of a new, untouched country.

Crossrivers.

They crashed into the small island you see and gulped the fresh stream water. One of the crew members accidentally drank some salt water from the ocean and threw up. But, hey, he didn't know.

After refreshments, they strolled across the island and were pleased to find a large quantity of fruit trees. They picked as many as they could carry (35 crew members, including the captain) which was a fair amount. They trotted back to the ship, covered the small hole from where they crashed with a mixture of orange rinds and sticky sand, and sailed off to to another quadrant of the region.

Crossrivers-1168212336.jpg

The southeast area, much like the southwest, is mainly water with coastal plains and small hills. These hills turn to mountains which are preserved all through history. They docked their ship and started hiking up the mountains to another section of Crossrivers.

Crossrivers-1168212532.jpg

Central-east, and...

Crossrivers-1168212431.jpg

Central-west.

This was a fabulous sight for the ocean-weary sailors. They, however, needed rest and decided to continue the next morning. It had been a long day.

DAY 2:

Captain Swenshyon's diary:

"We made landfall yesterday. The country appears to have plenty of resources for us to use. We will probably end up living here we like it so much."

The next day, everybody was eager to see the rest of the regon. They continued up the wide river and reached an isolated area.

Crossrivers-1168212486.jpg

They docked the ship, which was gettinhg pretty beat up, in a small cove and continued on foot up the mountains, where they came to an enormous crater-like valley:

Crossrivers-1168212514.jpg

However, they decided the ocean area had more of what they needed, so they went back to the area where they would start their first town, Swenshyon, in the next update.

Crossrivers-1168212404.jpg

Will they survive?

Find out next! 6.gif

Hi IDS2. I was looking forward to your CJ due to the Forum Games, and here it is. You have done a very nice job on the region. Very well terraforming. The little hills are pretty too. I am looking forward to what you have been preparing.

    Good luck

Thanks guys, but once again, I'm sorry to say, it's not my terraforming. Anyway, time for update 2! It's boring, but it's a filler for the next update.

Your city is growing fast. Very well work on the zonement process. Be careful, you might be missing something with all those brown boxes there. Greatly Organized zones.

    Can't wait for more.

Thanks guys! Time for replies! Expect another update to come in a day or so.

Jacky: Thanks! I have to get a few more pictures, then I'll put some on.

thundercrack: Hey, thanks a lot. It's fun to have a little story isn't it?

Rushhour: Thank you. I have noticed the boxes, but I'll explain. I seem to have deleted some white flower pot props, because when I hover over them, that's what it says.

Thanks guys! expect an update in the next few days.

Great start IDS2 i like the way you have utilised the land the way u have. Heaps of different colours in Swenshyon which is a good thing IMO though the REd lot sticks out like a bit of a sore thumb, otherwise wicked allround.

    catch ya

Patriots: lots? Hohoh I was trying to limit my plopping. You should see my 3gb of plugins goodies!

wynney: Hey, thanks! I agree with you for that red, it's kinda bright, I might replace it and move it to a 70's pastel town, eh?

jacky: Thanks! It'll be around soon.

    EDIT: Time for update 3!9.gif

    Swenshyon: part 2

once again, I'm not going to write a story until update four, Forestview. Comments are greatly appreciated!

And that's a mini-update. Next time we will cover Forestview, a large city to the north and part of a new national park. Comments appreciated!9.gif

For the brown boxes, try downloading BSC MEGA Props - MJB Vol01, as I had a similar problem once and that's what I was missing.

If that doesn't work, perhaps download PEG's no brown box mod as they really distract in what is apart from that a really good CJ.

Oh wow, great looking region there. It was very grimy and industrial at first but this latest region shot looks nice, lots of commercial and residential towers. I look forward to maybe a mosaic or 2 of this new area **wink wink nudge nudge** Keep it up!

Your region view looks pretty sweet, I would suggest trying to fix your port area... it looks a little out of place. You can check out Emilin's CJ he has a really great tutorial on how to put ports and a lot of other information on where to find good BATs and lots. Keep it up!

    UPDATE 4!!!

    Replies:

Giligone: of course I'll make a mosiac...just as soon as I get a bit better at it10.gif

Afrothunda: Yeah, that's been bugging me too but I keep fforgetting to fix it. Next time I go ingame I'll do that. Thanks for reminding me!4.gif

natuurzoon: thanks! More growth coming soon...as in right now19.gif

Voulpiotis: Muahaha there's gonna be a huge city in store, plus a capital, amusement park, and more of the national park I'm gonna show right now.9.gif

    Update 4: Forestview.

Ahh, Forestview. That's what most people say when they first experience the lush beauty that soon awaits them. Some developers say the cutoff between downtown and suburban homes is steep, but a nice elevated viaduct keeps out noise. As we continue up the road, we notice the welcome arch to Forest Mountains National Park and Cliff Valley National Wildlife Refuge. The tiny town atop the hill is in Forestview city limits, but has a separate name, as is the case with Swenshyon and Banjo. The tiny resort town is referred to as Plateau Ridge.

    Just a few reminders:

    1. The terraforming isn't my work.

    2. Bigger downtowns to come.

    3. Updates in Swenshyon, Banjo, Forestview, and Plateau Ridge will come later in the cj

    4. Comments are appreciated, please keep this thread alive. 9.gif

    The region photo-again.

    Crossrivers-1168998048.jpg

No teaser this time, but I will tell you that we're headed to a town west of Forestview where we will discover a few surprises and you will learn more about my city-building skills.

    Thanks!4.gif

Forstview looks great! I love the windy roads through the farmlands. Only thing I would suggest is looking into some of the custom airport stuff. The game airports aren't very good. Otherwise, everything looks good. I'll be looking forward to the next update!
