Very nice, I especially like the houses you use. Your pictures look great too, do you soften them in photoshop or something like that? Great updates.

I like these subursbs in the middle of nowhere ... and I am really curious when, how and which kind of MT you will install!

I like the poles next to the motorway - as simple as so often to be seen. (I don't do it either - shame on me)

Good point of connecting the avenue with a cloverleaf but then why did you out a road onramp so close to it? Unless there is nothing special on the other side of the motorway I wouldn't put there an exit and if there is something special I would do a normal overpass without ramps. (just my opinion)

About bathing in the Red Sea ... I haven't been there but a friend of mine once told me a dip in the sea it is not really refreshing ... with air tempoerature at 45 degree and water temperature about 37 degree ...

Take care

    Today's update

    ras1.jpg

    ras2.jpg

    ras3.jpg

    ras4.jpg

    ras5.jpg

    ras6.jpg

Region overview, lots of new development

    replies:

natuurzoon:Thanks, the houses work the best i think, especially comparedto the default stuff though it would be best if someone made a proper set of homes 15.gif

ExiL3:there is quite a lot of difference in height. i remember everyone was suprised in dubai to see all these modern buildings and just behind it was desert. quite different to what you normally see here in europe!

    pipishere:Thanks!

SpecialEddie:Thanks, you can get some ideas from google earth. I was looking at Riyadh and saw a cloverleaf where they had filled it with landscaping. The desert does seem to be transforming fast 3.gif when I first started the region I hadnt intended on development reaching as far as the airport but soon it looks like it could become enclosed!

funkytim88:Thanks, I will soon be adding more palms to interchanges and highways as I think it has worked well.

jcabassa:Thanks, and good to see an old member like you back 2.gif

    Voulpiotis:Thanks!

    sc4portugal:Cheers! and congrats on 300 posts 2.gif

jacqulina:Thanks, I thought it was about time to show some suburbs

connor_v:Thanks, I use a mix of blur and layering to give a sort of "bloom" effect.

Nardo69:Thanks, I wll probably use a mix of buses and metro. both will be interconnected to give coverage. I'm planning for possibly a 4 line network but I have only so far planned 1.

i'm actually not too sure about th exit, it was built way before the cloverleaf was planned so it is kind of a "leftover" the chaotic nature of planning in khaled 3.gif

I haven't personally been to the red sea but I went for a dip when I was in Dubai. it was winter so it was pleasant 2.gif but in summer i can imagine 6.gif

I must say, I have almost become addicted to your CJ, and that doesn't happend to me a lot when it comes to CJ's. Yours is truly interesting, and I just love the way everything looks so weird and "alien" though still seems to be familiar... :S

I have a comment on your Airport though, just my opinion, I think the "Kahled Airways Building" is a bit unpropotionate compared to surrounding buildings. I still think you should leave it though, but I would not have been pleased with the Architect('s) of that certain area of the Airport... 2.gif

    - sorry, I had to comment, I am studying Construction Engineering and Designs so I kind of just had to say something ... 9.gif

    take care,

Wow! Amazing job once again! I don't know how you make the transitions between the lots and the sandy terrain work so smoothly, but it looks GREAT!

Amazing refinery, although it would be better if it was dense. As for the airport it is huge and very realistic. Great work!

apologies for not replying last time but I was in a rush!

    Replies:

jacqulina:Thanks! it does feel a bit different building on desert than grass for some reason 41.gif

natuurzoon:Thanks and glad yo like the airport 2.gif

    connor_v:thanks!

    pipishere:Thanks for your reply 2.gif

thatmonkeysim:Thanks TMS, I suppose it is a bit like Dubai but I wil trytokeep it different than just making a Dubai clone.

    owenluby:Thanks

ExiL3:Thanks,  i see what you mean about the khaled airway building being a bit unproportianate to the rest of the airport. while i would prefer something lower, khaled airways wanted a massive building for show 2.gif my cj's are not always about trying to make everything perfect as possible. i'm studying architecture so yes I would probably agree 3.gif

    emilin:Thanks!

Voulpiotis:Thanks, i'm no expert but when i was looking on google earth the refineries looked quite spread out.

Great City! I just read through the whole thing. Excellent work! You've really captured the essence of Dubai- err... Kahled. hehe. You have an excellent collection of middle eastern BATs and that desert terrain mod really seals the deal. It's too bad shoddy work may close the whole new runway! So much waste. I'll be following this one more closely from now on! Keep it up! 9.gif

Awesome CJ! The styling is perfect. I really like how spread it is and how spacious the layout. Great airport as well. This really lives by your standards.

Ah, man. Really cool update. I like how every building in the suburbs seem to be something like "pre-fabs", it's the only way that city could have grown so fast! Great stuff, I don't know what else to say.

Also, yes I understand that it is hard to make things exactly the way you want them in SC4, I probably would have done differently were there more possibilities. Seems from your own buildings you are going to do just fine in Architecture 4.gif .

    take care,

Today's update: New beach development and University

    rah1.jpg

    rah2.jpg

    rah3.jpg

    rah4.jpg

    rah5.jpg

    rah6.jpg

and a roadmap so you wont get lost

    roadmap.jpgreplies:

yoder7652:Thanks, progress is coming along quite fast. it has expanded quite a bit since the beginning 4.gif

natuurzoon:thanks,i didn't know there was one being built in dubai too! it was based off the nw stadium project in doha for the asian games.

Giligone:Thanks! a shame abut the new runway indeed but it should be up and running again soon.

cowcorn:Thanks, its quite different from my othe cj's which were quite cramped and i had o try squeeze everything in. this time i have quite a bit of room to play around with. however the sprawl may lead to problems so i will probably add some more high density housing like Raha City.

pipishere:Thanks! the car parks are one of my earliest lots i made. just search under my name on the stex to find them

Schulmanator:Thanks, not sure about the simlympics. I will think about it 2.gif

SURUMI:They are one of the Japanese bats made by ks_JPN, just search him on the stex and you should find it 2.gif

ExiL3:Thanks, the prefabs as you say are the only real way to develop that fast. a bit of a shame as i think a lot of these pre fab houses (especially in this country) dont have the same feeling as the old style ones 2.gif

Urbandogg:The population is just under 30,000, ths is mainly down to the low density but residential demand in the city is very high so expect some increases in poplation 2.gif the bats are from a variety of sources but mainly from the japanese bat community.
