I tried to get a screenshot of the park as I did a test export of the seats, but printscreen decided to fail. If I had to pick one park that it looks like right now...I don't know. It's got a pretty big divided first deck, and a small second deck with luxury boxes above it, with main seats ending between the foul poles and the diamond. Smaller section, party areas, all that I haven't done yet.

The problem with making an actual, real life field, is that most are below ground level, and I'm not sure how to do that with the BAT, or have incredibly intricate seating diagrams that I'm just too lazy to do. I'd really want to do PGE Park, but I'm not very good at BATing buildings, either, so that's a double kill. Victory Field is awesome, too, but I think that might be below ground.

Web, I'm not very good at soccer stadiums. It seems like there's only so much you can do with them at a small scale, and I haven't even hit that very well. Coultharda is the good Euro builder.

I shrunk the stadium down to a tiny size so that a test export wouldn't take up too much time, but two problems came up with the stands. There should be a small deck under the luxury boxes, and under the arches and berms in the outfield. Obviously not done, but right now, it kind of looks like a scaled-down Yankees Stadium. Crap.

The stand down the first-base side isn't going to go all the way around like the other. It's gonna stop before the foul pole, with a parking garage on the end. Maybe a party deck in right field.

This is why I like building baseball fields, because you can do anything you want once you're clear of the diamond. Football/soccer just doesn't have that element.

actually it looks very similar to angels stadium or w/e it's called today in anaheim. as for the sunken problem, i've seen the stadium pulled up out of the ground with a slightly larger base and stairs up to the main plaza. you could try that. or PM blahdy. all of his big dig stuff is sunken so i bet he could give you some pointers.

OK. And yeah, I guess it does look like Anaheim too.

I extended the main stand, and added the parking garages. They look really blands and textureless, but I'm not sure what to do. Don't most garages?

Added some generic arches aroung the outfield perimeter, like the ones above the berm that you can barely see. The bullpens are going to be on field, so I don't have to stick them out there somewhere. Just have to work on the rest of the outfield fence area, the scoreboard, dugouts, and supports.

Now that I'm done this, a way-serious possibility for a real park could be Dunn Tire Park in Buffalo. It's got a lot of the same designs as Flag River.

    ^^

I could still do another baseball park, but it seems like that's all I'm doing nowadays, but for a reason. All of my football and soccer textures are really bad. I can do smaller sports by myself, but if anyone has a good pitch or texture for either of them, I'll gladly take it.

Kite Park is going to be experimental, to say the least. How's this grab you - no seats.

Grassy hills and raised platforms all the way around the field, with dugouts and bullpens built in, and occasional steps up the grass, and picnic areas around the park.

It's taking forever to build this place, and I don't know why. Lots of just staring at the screen and doing nothing. Anyway, here's a shot of what's done so far. Only thing of note is the little picnic platform, which you can't see, since I'm too lazy to export any more than the preview.

Wow! You've really come a long way since you started BATing! Take your time, and keep up the good work. Your stadia sure add a great layer of realism to the cities that I have used them in.

Dowd, what a weird park. That looks like the kind of thing Coultharda would be perfect at.

And if I haven't gotten the point across that Kite Park is random...it's REALLY random. It's supposed to be multipurpose, so the seating makes no sense at all for baseball. I just added a curved hill in deadaway center with ampitheater-style wooden benches on it, so it could look like a concert hill, or you could slap a football field across the outfield, and those would be the adjacent seats. I think right field is going to be one long party deck with tables and umbrellas and patios, and left field and third-base line will be a continuation of the hills.

    Hi scba,

I admire your works and I downloaded most of them and put it in my CJ for the next updates.... but I have one concern.... why is it that there are no nightlightings? I really need the nightlightings for your creations. Can you look into this?

I'm not really sure how to work lights, I've never even tried before. Seemed unnecessary at the time.

    Little Kite Park update.

    >

Some things may not have come out, like the grass merges in the outfield. Either way, in my eyes, it's looking good so far. This probably won't be a huge hit on the STEX, but I'm making it for a specific place in one my cities, so it doesn't matter to me much. Hopefully you'll like the finished copy.

I added some picnic decks down the third base line, and a second tier of catwalk in left field.

What's holding me back is the problem stemming from the big hill in center field. I made it out of a dozen small planes that were moved, cloned, bent, and rotated together, rather than making one big plane. That's making it almost impossible to make a mirror of it to place on the other side to slope back down; supports under grass would look ridiculous. So I'm either going to have to scrap the hill, or just re-do it in some different way

Final decision: The hill's gotta go! I'm just gonna terrace something new and keep the benches on a flat section.

This project's been an absolute menace from the start, and I keep just stalling out. So I'm shelving it until something better on how to improve it comes around.

Next project can start any time, but I really need a better texture for any soccer or football fields. If anyone has any they feel like sharing, I'd be grateful.

I don't use a texture, but I can send you the gmax file of my football (soccer to you) pitch if you like. It's simply a textured rectangle (I can send just that texture if you want) with white gmax lines (with a displayed mesh).

New idea - Miner Memorial Field. Kind of a rookie-league, Appalachian baseball park. Very small, lots of wood and gravel.
