Is it a problem if my city boundaries are not exactly the same with naeigborhood cities? I had my boundaries the same when I started but apparently while building some highways and things like that the boundaries have changed. Also is there a nice to finish highways. Somekind of an intersection so my highways wouldnt end like they were still being constructed?

anytime you do any constuction close to the edges of cities you take the chance of altering the terrian so the cities don't reconcile,

you can just not reconcile the cities...some ppl never do this and have cities 100'sm difference in the heights of two cities

personelly I like to have my cities reconciled...but to do this once you set a cities outerbounderies, make sure you done all the connection and construction your going to do ...reconcile the cities around you to the old one...even if you don't play the city in question...when you return your originial city it sohould now  be ok...as you play don't change the cites edges..., if you do you wil have to exit the city and reconcile the edge in the neighbour city once again

becomes tricky when you already played the cites and try to reconcile them...as using the reconcile button is about one of the worst things you can do to a developed city...just short of a nuke disaster

it fractures all the transit ties...destroys bridges and tunnels and randomly knock out road and track through out the city...plus they charge you the bulldozing cost for this lovely favor too and you get to slowly go through the city fixing everything...:S

when I do end up with developed cities that I want to reconcile...I pick the one with the most money and be the least affected transit network that i will have to reconstruct

if your looking to end highways...you can use an ingame feature...avenue to Highway conection

start the avenue a few spaces away from where you want the highway to end...line them up so they match and drag it to the highway..if unobstructed they should link together...4.gif

indeed - I never reconcile my cities once I've started them - it's very tricky sometimes when I've built an embankment or something - but that said I always reconcile *before* I start, so that my cities are nice and matching.

Having the edges not match up won't hurt the functionality of the game. Things will still connect. It's purely a matter of region view aesthetics.

True - but the annoying thing is that the reconcile button smooths the terrain around where it is reconciling, and as a result it will demolish *anything* in that area - that's why it's ill advised to do once the city has been started.
