Some of them resemble American Buildings.... Oxford looks similar to the Wells Fargo in Portland, OR and Intraco looks a lot like the Han***** in Boston. I wonder which ones (and if) isnpired the others. Nice skyline though never would have guessed Warsaw had anything like that.

I remember coming across Warsaws skyline accidently when I was searching for stuff on google... I was pleasanty surprised and with the TP SA Tower especially. I do think Warsaw is one of Europes most up and coming cities, It seems to be going from strength to strength since Poland joined the EU.

Wow! I'm glad you all like it!

aleking - Yeah 2.gif But Warsaw will never have so many skycrapers as Chicago!

SC4Noobie -I also think TP SA Tower is one of the bests...It's really modern.

lrfox - Really?? Oh.. I didn't know about it!

bixel - That's really nice site...You can also see te highest,  and the oldest skycraper in Poland...Palace of Culture and Science. I hate it so much!

El Burro - Yes! That's right. Warsaw has the biggest skycrapers in eastern and central Europe...And of course EU helps Warsaw to become more stronger and more beautiful city.

Now some new photos of Warsaw!

I love Warsaw... It does have a lot of nice buildings. I think it would be hilarious if someone BAT'ed the Palace of Culture... commie architecture at its best... so ugly, but so imposing.

I think Poland is sadly disregarded. Krakow (Cracow) looks even better, only there aren't any skyscrapers. But the Rynek (town square) is phenomenal. I believe it is one of, if not THE, largest city plazas in Europe. The Sukiennice and the Kosciol Mariacki would challenge even the Koln/Cologne Cathedral for beauty.

The Nazis systematically destroyed Warsaw building by building while the "friendly" Russians sat on the other side of the Vistula (Wisla) and watched and waited. They leveled more than 80% of the city. The Russians only "came to the resuce" after the city was wasted.

What is really interesting is that the Warsaw Old Town was almost completely rebuilt using photos and paintings, and the original bricks (from all of the debris). There is now a nicely rebuilt Old Town, it is just unfortunate that the entire city wasn't rebuilt the same way... the existing Old Town is much smaller than the original.

Looks great, Ill Tonkso! I would only comment that the lettering on the side of the building should say LOT, not LDT. A simple error. LOT is the national airline for Poland.

I've been living in a barrel! I didn't know that Warsaw has so many real skyscarpers. But now I know. Now my images of small-rise historic, medieval city is ruined and is replaced by a modern european city.

Wow those are some awesome buildings. I didn't know warsaw had such a skyline which is strange because i've been there (I was only 10 at the time). All I remember of warsaw and krakow are historic buildings and large squares. The only tall buildings I rememeber were in sczeczin where we stayed in a tall, modern hotel (I can't remember what it was called). I guess my memory isn't very good.
