That is very cool Rene. Looks like you have a lot of lights so that may be why it takes so long. It will be worth the wait. Sometimes I have rendered BATs that take 12 hours or more to finish. You don't have to stay with it the whole time; start it at night, turn off your monitor, and check on it in the morning. Most of the render time will be on Zoom 5 - it will finish very quickly after that. You might consider not lighting every floor but it looks good like it is.

just make sure there's nightwindows/lights on the BATs and that they are in proportion/not overscaled and also rendered in high quality.

a lot of your earlier BATs havent been used because of this, which is a shame as they are good creations

Has anyone thought of doing a wind power plant for simmars?

wind power wont be featured in SimMars as atmoshpere pressure is too thin and wind, even when fast, does not have a strong enough power

Don't we have a topic about power plants for SimMars? I do remember there was one for a fusion power plant. Anyways, can somebody give me some inspiration to BAT something? I want a quickie, not something that will take ages.

EDIT:  Is there some way I can incorperate some type of 1940s Russian building styles in SimMars?  It's about time we have something a bit more grimey..

Dang, good job everyone! I'll go and dig through those old files I have collecting dust in my BAT folder, see if anything there is of any use, assuming they're still there...

OK, I recently just cooked this up:

Cheap Tesla Power Generators, used to be the Earth equivilent of wind power plants. Still need to change a few things including the model detail.

This seems that it could be some type of new power plant / water pump. I guess this should be the new large water pump. I could lot it, but this could involve me using outside sources such as BSC textures and props.

Sorry I haven't responded in so long-- I've been without my computer for most of July.

Whenever I try to attach the model to a post I'm informed that ``You aren't permitted to upload this kind of file'', so email would probably be easier. Unless I'm missing something blatantly obvious, which has been known to happen.

Since I don't want to post something with no new material:

I'm starting to work on a modular structure, which I've named QBrick for no real reason. Future versions will have more exposed machinery, better textures, and in general suck less.

I'm extermely unhappy with the stairs, as they're out of scale and the concept doesn't seem very Martian in any case. Perhaps ladders would work better?

Comments, criticisms, and/or diatribes against my lack of skills are welcome.

I like the stairs. It's a sweet little build. Nicely detailed - I wouldn't change a thing unless you just wanted to try it a different way.
