Shun Hing Square (????) is a tall high-rise building or skyscraper in Shenzhen, China. Its structural height is 384 m (1,260 ft) and has 69 stories. It was completed in 1996 and for one year (from 1996 till 1997), it was the tallest building in China until Guangzhou's CITIC Plaza was completed. It now ranks fourth in China and eighth worldwide in the high-rise ranking.

A blurb from emporis that I used in a readme that I made for the building mentionned in the blurb.

"What the....? 4 people voted EA?!?! Let's assume (read: pray to the mighty Simcity gods... or atleast hope) they are joking around."

A post I made in the "Mid-term elections" thread in general discussion... I got the "there is no polls" error, so I went back, cut and pasted into the reply box instead of the quick reply box... which doesn't get that error.

It will go nowhere. But I copied only that part of the link so that I could put in my own numbers at the end.

Originally posted by: jvlm.123 I think (unjust) ageism is also evdient in schools:

For example, my school doesn't seem to trust (or like) the students at it... All these rules:

♦ Students must wear the total school uniform at all times (even in class when it's boiling in the room). 7.gif

♦ If a student tries to attend school wearing the improper uniform, they will be sent home for the day.

♦ Students may not dye, tint, or highlight their hair. Or have it too long. 22.gif

♦ Facial hair is not permitted. (this is for males only...hopefully) 3.gif

♦ The wearing of ear rings, rings, studs, necklaces or any other personal jewelery is not permitted.

♦ Items such as mobile phones, MP3 players/iPods, digital cameras, etc.. are not permitted on school grounds at any time. 26.gif (Okay, this rule is broken daily by a majority of the 1,000 students at the school... Hint: Put phones on silent mode and turn vibrate off, then use them at lunch/etc..)

♦ Any student found smoking, drinking (alcohol) or under the influence of (illegal) drugs will be suspended indefinately. (This one I can understand).

♦ It the event of snow (common here in winter), students are not permitted to be outside (most don't come in at all, though). 32.gif

♦ Students are not allowed to leave the school grounds at all during the day (including during lunch). (Again, this one I get).

♦ If a student is involved in any trouble while wearing the school uniform (even outside school), they can be suspended. 6.gif

There's (a few) of my school's annoying rules/regulations... I honestly think they're trying to make us all the same... Like something from 1984 (the book). 22.gif The principal (who no one likes) is almost like a dictator... 14.gifquote>

Is this a private school I hope? because if it's a public school, I'd be surprised and disguisted that scuh a thing would be allowed to exist. In fact, public schools requiring uniforms is illegal here in the US. As is any form of physical punishment in schools (caning, rullering of the hand, etc.). The jewelry, facial hair, and hair dying rules are just stupid. I see no reason why such regulations are necessary, even for a private school. The cell phones, mp3 players and cameras thing is closer to understandable. My high school permitted cell phones, but they couldn't be on in class. They permitted CD players and mp3 players, but again, not on in class. Cameras I never heard any rule about. But I don't think any student ever brought a camera to school (except for a camera on their cell phone). Their most broken and most controversial rule was that you couldn't wear anything on your head. Hats, caps, du-rags, headbands, hoods, whatever. Not allowed. Two different reasons were given as to why. One was that it hindered identification of someone, particularly from behind. The other was that they could be used to identify in gangs. Of course, banning hat use won't prevent identifying with gangs. That can be done with any article of clothing... and I never heard of any gangs in Stamford, CT, anyway.21.gif

Of course, I'm in college now, and I carry my camera and cellphone (and wallet) everywhere, and no one stops me. I keep my phone off in class, though.19.gif

That's the last post I made. I always copy a long message before posting it so I don't have to retype it if it doesn't go through.5.gif

Ditto

Most of your posts are either criticisms or telling the world what music you're listening to, or 2-3 word forum games (which can easily be considered spam). Jacky's posts are mostly comments in CJ's and BAT threads, being supportive and offering encouragement.

I suggest you learn to grow up and live with it (not that anyone here gives a stuff what you think anyway). And do you know what else is annoying? Laughing at tragedies such as Steve Irwin's death. I suggest that unless you have something constructive to add to this site, you just lurk.
