TheJerseyDevil73,

First, I must appologize...how is it you have gone 60+ pages and I've not read this CJ yet? 47.gif  I haven't had much time with concentrating on the MAPP for the better part of the last year but now that we are in Beta Testing I'm "trying to get out more"...  17.gif  I spent most of my day today at work going through your first 35 or so pages...will save the other 30 or so for tomorrow at work when I'm even slower than today...  17.gif

I like what I've seen so far...it is truly amazing what you have done here...you are definitely deserving of the Trixies you have gotten so far (and then some!  19.gif  )  I might just have to run over to that thread right now and throw in a nomination or two for you (along with some of the other people I read.  2.gif  )

You have done great work...I look forward to reading more as it comes and catching up on what I've missed so far...keep em comin...  44.gif

He's got a family, and a good life. He's also been working on this awesome project for 3 years. Go away.

Now, come on.  What is the point of your post other than as a blatant flame?

Please.  Grow up, dude.

(BTW - I think the decision over whether any of us have lives is moot once we contribute to an online gaming community...)

BTW, if you noticed I have 24 posts since 2004. I didn't go defensive at all in my posts - I'm just a neutral passerby who has never posted in this thread before. I had to post because of your childish behaviour. Infact I'd call my posts reasonably aggressive. Criticism is fine as long as it makes sense. I completely agreed with everything he said in your CJ. It isn't a recreation. It isn't even the right scale. If you wanted to do a true one, you'd have to follow what JerseyDevil said. No point getting upset.

Anyway, that's enough from me.

Wow... this is amazing... I am new to Simtropolis and I live in Edmonton, and this is extremely realistic. You have practically every tree in the correct place. Would it be possible for you to send/post a picture to me of the updated Ross Sheppard High School area and the Skyview (NW) area?

Wow, I haven't checked this CJ for a very long time.  I must say JD, you have done a fantastic job.  Words can barely sum what you have accomplished.  I am very glad that SC4 has come out with a few mods to help you speed things up.  I know from the last time I talked to you, there was a bunch of things that you were a bit concerned about.

Hope you and your family is doing well.  Can wait till your next update!

I'm sorry guys but it does seem like Jersey Devil either doesn't have the time or willingness or some other reason to update his CJ anymore. Everyone who has read it has to agree with me that it is the most realistic out of all of SimTropolis. A couple of years back, I tried with my home city of Melbourne but my low-spec (back then) computer and time (school, social life) was limited.

I know I sound like i'm making a speech at a funeral but that is what it is like here. But don't turn this thread into a grieving thread. Think happy thoughts! It was a fantastic CJ and among the very best on SimTrop.

Wow. I'm sort of new here and I must say that after seeing this, I am speechless! I have lived in Edmonton all of my life and this is spectacular! In the pictures of the Westmount area, I was able to see the location of my house, being on the corner of 136 St and 115 Ave. Congrats, and I hope to see more updates soon!

    City of Edmonton

I wanted to check in to see how my City Journal is doing. As always, sorry for not updating it. I haven'y played much SimCity in the last year. And the little I have played... are a few different regions.

I'll never say this City Journal is retired or even dead. I have every tool, arial photo, and everything else related to it ready to go when ever that urge hits.

The good news is I've been playing SimCity since the day the first one came out. And it's a game I always will play. So as I've said before this CJ will continue. There have been times before that this CJ rested for months at a time only to come back.

A project of this size requires alot of time. It's not something that is enjoyable to pick for a half hour here and a half hour there. It's nice to sit down for a few hours and get something accomplished. I have a family, full time job, and alot of other past times, so to commit for an evening or two is hard to do.

Simtropolis will continue to be a strong community and this thread will be around for some time. I'm thankful for everyones views and interest over the years. I can see Sim City 4 continuing to be the true Sim City fans game of choice for many years to come.

Societies personaly for me is an extreme let down to a legendary franchise. My personal opinion is they don't care for the opinions of those who have been fans of the franchise for many years. I'm not saying Societies is the anti-christ to Sim City. I just don't believe it should be using the name Sim City along with it's label.

    Thanks again ;o)

I just sat for hours on end in front of my PC and went through the whole CJ. Truly amazing. The detail, the realism, the patience... I wish I had the patience to recreate a region like this.

    Keep it up. Great work...
