This is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen.  There are not enough superlatives to express how amazingly amazed I am!  I'm from Edmonton, and while I've recently moved to Vancouver, it will always be home.  It's kind of silly, but it makes me so proud to see you giving Edmonton this public labour of love!

The parks in Edmonton are really nice.  I have been there twice, once when I was little, and another time about a year ago.  I liked it almost as much as disneyland!1.gif

    Edmonton May 2nd

I've been working on Edmonton after some nice down time from the CJ. One thing I find is I really want to show many or any updates but the city is built sparaticly with many areas worked on and few being completed as of now. And I hate to show half finished work. But with 90,000+ views and no updates of late I think I will begin showing areas that are half finished and let everyone watch as areas grow. Today is a very small update but I will have alot more to come.

Also this morning I finished the massive Mill Creek / Connors Road / Scona Road interchange just across the river from downtown. I wish I had the Mutart to put in the area. With a little more work I should be showing that area soon. Here are a couple of other pics from the downtown area and a region view. Also the links are to large detailed maps of the region.

I've done alot more work on the region including a few different areas. But I've been recreating downtown the most trying different buildings in areas. Downtown is far from done and already on its 849th year of building. Here is another sneak peak at the area....

    Edmonton May 6/05

Yesterday afternoon in eastern Edmonton there was a chemical explosion that closed many roads and had some areas evacuated. Luckily the wind was blowing east away from the city. One reason why alot of Edmonton's refineries and chemical plants are on the east end. While Manufacturing is on the west. The fire ended up being a 3 alarm blaze and was later found not to have a difference in chemical composition then most any other fire. The Edmonton Emergency responce headquarters was rarely activated just incase of a Toxic cloud blowing over the city and for a mass evacuation of perhaps a good sized area of the city. While at work I could see the smoke from my bar. I thaught it was a refinery doing a bad burn off. I found when the evening news came on what had actually happened.

Heres a few small pics and where it happened on the map.

Back to the CJ, The city is a few thousand away from being at 400,000. I've also put in 10's of 1,000's of jobs. the city is growing at a good pace.

It's great to see this up and running again...I was also missing it. Furthermore, don't be afraid to use some tall towers from the STEX for your downtown. Pretend that Edmonton will look that way in 20 years with some taller downtown buildings.

Cypherus21 : I would like to use taller buildings. But spending 23 months of painfull recreation I can't see myself not doing it the right way.

Frogface : Yeah the CJ is nearing 2 years now. And for that mod I was really excited when I seen pics. But I know that buildings wont grow along it. And I need to see what other dependencies that mod may have. I'm really iffy with mods at first but have found a few that made this CJ possible.

I'm really glad to see that you are still dedicated to this Region.  Its always been a source of inspiration for me.  I changed the way I developed a lot of my land because of this CJ.  I can't wait to see what you do next!  Keep up the great work!

    Edmonton May 8 / 05

flamesrock : Thanks for the satellite pictures. I use a few different sites and different zooms to recreate areas.

jasperdeman.nl : I think I am going to start putting in some of Edmonton's bigger news. And local events aswell in teh city journal. We have the world master games coming here this summer and the Queen in a few weeks aswell. Glad to see that interesting news will be a good edition to teh CJ.

TheBigZ : I'm glad to see that my notorious curved roads and other inovations have helped your region(s). I know in some of my other regions I have used curved roads for realism. If anyone remembers my Monarch Coast region it is still in the works aswell and isn't dead. But Centennial Bay was corrupted by a beach lot. So I'm working on new city or two in that region for show (sorry to go off topic).

NintendoMaster : As always thats great news. I keep getting excited at announcements then depressed when it fades again. I really hope to see how Telus is doing. Especially with the work I've done downtown. Thanks again and keep in touch.

Heres a satellite picture that FlamesRock provided with the region borders added for easier comparison.
