Increase in Hackers

hello, i have realized that there seems to be a massive increase in hackers, i checked up on my website today and it was hacked by some turkish hacker, i got to the admin cpanel but the forum admin brings up the hacked stuff, also the entire server that my brothers site was on was hacked by some turkish hackers, and i heard that some turkish hackers hacked microsofts france site, and some hacker group called spy kids hacked www.simcitysphere.com, my website is http://www.galacforums.com/SimCity_and_Beyond/index.php 
i am worried that they could also hack simtropolis, anyone else know anything about this increase in hackers, or have there site hacked

Nah, I really dunno. This increase might just be your imagination since a lot of sites that you visit got hacked.

^No - a collection of other sites I visit have been hacked.

It was a kid who simply searched for forums running outdated software and hacked them. Probably not the same kid, as the IP traced back to South Beach.

So long as ST is on fully updated software, it should be safe from amatuers, and the good hackers have better targets.

search for turkish hackers and a lot of hacked sites come up, search for owned by spykids [+]Spykids group and alot of hacked sites come up

Its all getting worse.

I was installig a new harddrive on my friends PC and thought i would at least be able to do Windows updates without

A bunch of crap getting on the drive. No dice, it only took about an hour to do the updates and when i ran spybot remover it found 300 of them and Norton later found

2 minor virus's. luckley they were nothing major. Next time the Internet security get loaded before the updates.

Guy from another site had his eBay account hacked. Twice in the last two months.

They hacker offered to sell him his username and password back for a rather steep. The hacker also had his IP and Yahoo username attached (apparently, he is a very good hacker using another account he hacked, or a very bad hacker).

If I could hack I'd do it to sites like http://simcity.ea.com/ to make them better. Instead of ruining them and taking peoples accounts.

Ebay is a great site and I do use it but I hear never ending reports of hackings and other crime over there.

They're really prone to Phishing, as is Paypal. Unless it states your username on an email from ebay, it ain't genuine.

Funny, the few usual sites I visit haven't been having any issues. But then, they are all relatively strict sites that run on newer software.

the point is there seems to be an increase in hackers, i think the UN should make hacking punishible in all UN member nations.
