Yeap, in order to get the LE, you need a simcity 4.com account(Parential email if under 18)

Have you tried installing it with Administrator rights? Can you create a shortcut manually? (i. e. (A) do you know how to create a shortcut manually, and (B) does your user account allow the creation of shortcuts?)

I'm sorry for digging out this old topic, but I really need help with the Lot Editor.

When I try to install it, it always tells me "Unable to read registry" and nothing happens.

Maybe it does this because I didn't download it from the official website, but from an other site... but I had to do this, because the oficial website always tells me that I need to register my game before downloadeing the Lot Editor, however, I've already registered it some years ago when downloading the Lot Editor for the first time, so now I can't register my game again!

What should I do?

No, there isn't, unfortunately. You might want to use a virtual machine that runs Windows, or a dual-boot setup.

I think, You can't work with Lot Editor with unlegal SC4 in any causes - You must have a legal one and Lot Editor work very simple ...

and official maxis made tools can be found by "accept the license agreement" on SC4Devotion

Lot Editor are for YOU on SC4 Devotion with Addons ...

Only You can't ... from Kuala ...

I have got the tools from sc4devotion. Worked last time I downloaded from there. I have the full game (RH included) on steam.

I got mine installed. Thought that the steam version came with the latest patch already. That was wrong. Installed the latest patch, with a lot of error messages along the way, but it appears to work even so. After that I was able to install the lot editor too.
