You must register and log in at the Official Simcity Website... simcity.ea.com. It is available there.

The Lot Editor can be found on the Official Sim City 4 website once you have Product Registered and Logged In. It can then be found on the Lot Editor page of the website.

The BAT can be found on the same website as the Lot Editor, it can be found on the BAT page.

To use the BAT, you must also get gmax. The link provided on the Official website does not work. You can get gmax at www.turboquid.com/gmax. You must register at that site to get the registration code for gmax, or it won't run. You must also download all of the updates from the Official SC4 Website and install them in the correct order... READ the Readmes.

Hi,

And here is my trouble.

I always get a "Unable to read registry" message when I try to install Lot Editor, despite I downloaded it in my D:\Simcity 4\Apps\ folder. My product is registered and I am logged in.

Can you please help me ?

Maybe try it on your C drive? Also check you haven't got another version installed, try uninstalling the old one first. Also could you please specify what operating system you are using as that makes a difference.

Edit: also check you have administrator rights on the computer you are trying to install it on.

Yes I have the administrator rights and my OS is Windows XP, Service Pack 2.

Should I reinstall SC4 on my C:\ drive ? I wanted to keep just Windows on my C:\ drive, and all the other softwares on the D:\ drive...

i would say this is resolved by now but if not or someone else needs info on it here:

I think you mean the lot editor.I had this alot on Win M.E. with the lot editor for some

reason the shortcut can't be made this error is not a problem just go into your sc4

install folder under the apps folder is the lot editor.exe send a shortcut of it to your 

desktop so you can use it faster.

If the bat causes it aswell just go into your gmax install folder & under the gamepaks 

folder is the bat folder in there is launcher.exe send a shortcut of it to your desktop.

Uhh... theres a problem with your link:  It's broken.  It redirects me to another page thats red and green and has nothing but links to other sites on it.  My plight is that I registered my game at simcity.com, but I have long forgotten that account name and password.  The other thing is that the e-mail address I supplied to the site is incorrect (it used to redirect to the correct site but it doesn't anymore.).  Instead of using @yahoo.com, I used @yahoomail.com.  So I screwed myself in a sense.  I don't think tech support would be helpful.

I still can't download the Lot Editor. I tried to enter the SimCity page, but I get redirected to SimCity Societies. And the links in the thread are for BAT and Mac downloads.

Where can I download Lot Editor then?

The Mac links are fully applicable for PC users as well.

This link doesn't work anymore either.  Does anyone know where I can get gmax?

Reignerok-yeah the site link is in the thread(at the bottom of the

first post)that link brings you to another page & at the bottom of

that is the main file link & the lot editor is on there with other files.

But just use the sc4 devotion link it's easier to find it.

i cant recieve the product registration email, so i was wondering if there where any other links to get the lot editor. i also use a macintosh. can someone help? maybe someone could attach the lot editor as an attachment.

Mythbusters101: Look two posts up in BIWDC's. In his signature there is a link called "Get your Maxis Files here". Click on it and you will be able to download the Lot Editor at an alternative site (created by a Mac User), without needing to product register.

Strucka, I don't understand what you are trying to say. What do you mean the Lot Editor is running but not working? If Lot Editor runs, what exactly is the problem? Screenshots would help along with a description of exactly what you were doing when you got the error.

when i download it i open it and it doesn't open, it just opens an error window and the window says unable to read registry file or something. The same as juju's problem. Up in the begining of the thread. As I understood you have to be registered at maxis to get a working one. Or do you?

Is that exe file inside a zip? Does it make a difference if you extract it from the zip first?

What version of SC4 are you running and is the version of lot editor compatible? Eg are you running SC4 without Rush Hour or Deluxe and you are trying to install the Rush Hour/Deluxe version of the Lot Editor?
