I guess the gender confusion is contagious. It's no big deal but I'm a he. Thanks for the reward idea but I'm sure there's other Simtropolis members more deserving.

I'll get something together on how to change Instance numbers but anyone doing it needs to understand that if alot of people are doing this, it can cause conflicts.

I was thinking about the ID-crash problem too.  I'm going use the prefix BF for obvious reasons, if it's OK with you all.  So my freights would be numbered 10AABF00 to 10AABFFF, for example.  That gives me 0x100 (er, 256) of each type, which should be more than enough for anyone, and won't clash with anything else I've seen out there.  How's that?

 

To make life easier for everyone, I'll also follow the Trolca file-naming convention, with the ID numbers in the name of the .dat itself for easy reference.  When the time comes.

That could work. There will be times that more than one S3D and/or FSH will be needed for a single engine/car.

While I'm at it, I've been quiet lately for a reason.  Here's a sneak peek at my next exploit.  I have a few textures to touch up, and would like to do a little more with the night-lighting before release.

 

 

 

Here's a re-skinned GP7 (I moved the side-louvers to make it more like one of Caltrain's GP9s) pulling passenger cars, as Caltrain does from time to time. 

 

 

I seem to be more comfortable with passenger trains than freight.  I have a few days more testing and tweaking to do; I'll release under my own new thread when the time comes.  Please don't put in requests 'till then.  Thanks.
