Region generation not working

I was trying to generate a new region, but it does not work any longer. If I press <ctrl> + <alt> + <shift> + R, the dialog does not popup like it did before, furthermore, the map starts shaking a bit.

I have tried uninstalling all of my plugins (removing them from plugins folder) and reinstalling the game, all to no succes, has anybody had similar problems?

if you're using a PC, i would suggest SC4TerraFormer. it's a new tool that should revolutionize map making. it's a standalone tool where you can import maps and make region wide terraforming changes, and they are save DIRECTLY TO YOUR CITIES! no more importing a map and waiting hours for it to render. for some reason, I ran into that problem a few times myself. (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R not working)

I just stopped working, then started again...

as for the shaking, I have that issues with some of my larger reagions, so all I can say is to that is... use a smaller region...

ok, if you press ctrl-alt-del-r and no dialog box appears, it IS NOT a map/region problem! there are only 4 things that can cause this, listed from most probable to least,

1. conflicting program: program running in the background that has remapped the keys, make sure you close all unnecessary background apps. (also some keylogger viruses can do this)

2. keys on keyboard not functioning: try testing all the keys in windows, character map works good for this.

3. damaged SC4 install, a reinstall will fix this

4. damaged windows install

One more thing.  Press ALT then hold it down while pressing the other keys.  The ALT signal is not a shift.

There is also one other thing I recall someone mentioning once before. Are you using a "wireless" keyboard? Wireless keyboards are limited to 3 simultaneous keys. I know there is a solution for this, but unfortunately I forget what it is since it didn't have any value to me.. .but if this is the case at least you know what problem to ask about..

^ I do have a wireless keyboard but the combination works fine for me... but I also have experienced problems sometimes (mostly when I tried to open the dialogue box twice in a row), then I had to restart SC4 and it worked then...
