I have had similar problems with my earlier bats as well, but there could be several things that could be causing this:

1.) Before you export the model, try moving all the plugins you may have in your Simcity plugins folder into a different folder (outside of the game files) Some plugins may conflict with BAT rendering.

2.) Do you have all the patches for the BAT & Nightlighting installed? I think there were two or three- to fix texturing errors, nightlighting, etc. Make sure you have ALL the patches for the BAT installed. These can be found on simcity.ea.com (You must be registered to download.)

3.) Before you render, make sure your model is centered on the (x,y) axis in Gmax.

4.) In the BAT options in Gmax under "Parameters," try refitting the lods and resetting all the lights and cameras before exporting.

5.) If all that fails, select all your objects (excluding any lights or cameras you may have) and "Save selected" them as a new file. Restart your computer. Launch the Bat and open up a new scene. Under file, select "Merge" and import the file you "Save selected" earlier. Refit lods and reset lights, then export again.

Let me know if any of this works.

Oh, and I think there was a patch for the Lot Editor too; make sure you install that as well.

Just by looking at the picture your BATted hotel on the STEX, I am quite sure that this one will do thr trick. It looks like the LODs are too small. A simple refit, as marcszar mentioned, should do the trick.

One of the best tools you can master in gMax is the LOD.  They are simple to make, and you can do all kinds of things with them to make your lots better.  The default LOD does not always fit closely to your scene.  If you make the LOD fit close to the model, then you will be able to see the props placed on the lot.  You can make them from any of the objects, and you can combine objects to conform to the building shape.

Delete the default LOD's before you start, size the objects to fit, attach the objects to make a single object, and name it LOD 3, clone it and name it LOD 4, repeat for LOD 5 [change the color for each].  Check to make sure all parts of the scene are covered.

Some batter's clone the building itself to make the LOD, but that makes the poly count too high.  As you get proficient with it, you will be amazed at what you can do with the lots.
