EDIT: just in case anyone didn't know qwest field is seattle's foot ball stadium. (qwest = football,

safeco = baseball, key arena = basketball and all purpose, some ice rink = thunderbirds hockey. seattle has quite a lot of sports teams there is a soccer team but i don't remember the name.)quote>

They are different.  Looky here:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=seattle&ie=UTF8&ll=47.593662,-122.33036&spn=0.012734,0.04283&t=k&om=0

Umm..what's that?  Two different stadia, with two different logos on two different roofs?

Please check your sources/data before making an arse of yourself by proclaiming something that isn't true.

Great work, BTW, to the dude who is making this awesome BAT

This looks extremely good! Pretty soon, you might be taking requests for stadiums, cuz' YOU ARE AWESOME! Just FYI, what's the lot size? I got to make room for this when you release it. TopCliff

    Thanks everyone!

DuskTrooper: It is the same stadium. "The stadium was originally named Seahawks Stadium and affectionately called "The Hawk", or the "Hawks Nest". The name Qwest Field was announced on June 2, 2004, after Qwest bought the naming rights, $75 million, for 15 years." (taken from Wikipedia)

yep they are the same stadium, if you look at that google map closely you'll see that one stadium is Qwest Field and the other is Safeco Field (the baseball stadium currently being batted).

Oh, I thought you meant that safeco is the same as qwest. My mistake.  43.gif Quest IS the same as Seahawks.

Some people DO confuse the two, though, and that is what I thought was going on here.

    But, once again, excellent work.

That's one big stadium, dude! Even larger than all the new Madison Square Gardens! Good luck, maybe you can attach an automata property for a bunch of cars, giving the illusion that there are a bunch of people going to/ leaving the game. That would be awesome, maybe one of the modders could do that for you! TopCliff

Just what the STEX needs, MORE Stadiums!!  This is really good work so far, I'm from Philly inspired to start a Seattle CJ just based on Safeco Field....haha.  Looke forward to the download.  I think you are going to become very popular in the future for BAT requests.

Although,  the Metrodome roof is more complex then what you would think 2.gif

To get it exactly right, yes. It has some very akward curves because of the crossing pattern, as can be seen the the center-left in the photo. I would think that a guess of how the roof would look would do just fine, and only me or other people that are often around the building would notice the minute details. But it's a dump anyways, and we're getting a new stadium in 2010. Yay!!!! 4.gif

    But I dunno, I'm not a BATter.

I once tried batting the RCA Dome in Indianapolis and found that the dome isn't too bad, but the problem was that the furthest edges around the dome (where the roof meets the wall) never came out properly...it always looked funny with sharp edges. However, I've learned alot since then and plan to tackle the dome again after I finish a project that I'm currently working on.

The stadium is coming along nicely. It's a big BAT but it looks photo-realistic.

I'm not sure why people are requesting something thats never even been done (or should I say completed...) before. If this gets done then maybe we can say there is someone who actually finishes his work and will actually BAT these ballparks and stadiums, so the in vain requests should begin then, not at the point where we have a half-way done project the looks soooooooo great.

Very fine work on this project. It has been somewhat comical in the iroinic sense to see your thread turned into a mini-request thread. If anything though, it is a compliment that your work is top notch and there is a lack of stadiums in this game. Anyways, keep up the fine work.

    07/21/2006 - Home plate entrance

I'm currently working on the exteriors. It's very challenging (and frustrating too). Here's a preview of the main entrance.

You... Are... friggin' awesome!!! I really like that brick texture, but I think the metal awnings look just a tad worn, unless they spray paint the awnings once a week. TopCliff

Heh, actually there is no texture at all in the awning (at least for now).

Not meaning  to go too far off topic, It is nice knowing that the Twins are getting a new building, I'll never know how they got sucked into the deal when they moved from the Met in 82. Its a football stadium!

I suppose BATing the baggyDome would be complicated if you really wanted to be detailed, meaning adding the crossing pattern, the red tiebacks along all the sides... etc. or you could do like "bewilder2" said and make four walls and slap on a roof, and wahlah.

Wow very cool. It's exciting to see more major league sport buildings. Any idea how many tiles big it's gonna be?
