About the STEX...

A few things about the STEX that can be changed.

1. Let's have a better search function. I search scba for the guy and get tons of stuff about BSCBAT... So, can we have some options to get only files, uploaders, etc?

2. The recent list is kinda annoying. One list for everything is fine.

3. A go to page option, so we can jump to 23652346 in less than a billion clicks.

4. When are we gonna get info on best of the week and top uploaders?

6. I think it's time to update the donate to ST! thing that still talks about the recent tech upgrade, the cj section that still hasn't been updated, and the STEX disc? Ok, there really isn't much to talk about, but please, update it.

7. Do we really need that many STEX mods?

I also would like that the search by type + by keword works

a search like this :

that I expect to give me only props by bsc, return all things bsc has uploaded

I am quite happy with the STEX. I think dirk has done a good job in creating it especially because its such a large database. Yes I agree there are some things that need to be done but as some people say something is aways better than nothing.

Not to be rude, but if you want to change ST...forget it! Remember that the admins, mods and ops are all dedicated enthusiasts who do this for the love of the site...It is not a paid or paying site and as such, demands such as yours are quite unfounded and unnecessary. The webmaster has a life too and if he cowtowed to every "i want" request he would never sleep and probably lose his job, so cut everyone some slack and be grateful there is a STEX to start with.

Now lets not flame the guy for suggesting a few ideas (though he could have been a bit less demanding). Not that anyone actually has, but the thread could easily head in that direction.

My advice to the author: rephrase your original post to make it sound like you're just making a few suggestions, as opposed to giving instructions.

callagrafx: Those are just some euggestions. Why are they unfounded and unneeded? I know that the mods, admins, etc are volunteers. I never demanded that they do this or I would hack ST through the ground. I don't even know how to. I know dirk has a life. I know the mods have a life. Thank you.

Note that when you first click to the STEX, this is your URL:

switch from recent to all files and it turns to this:

So you can get to page 23652346 in just two clicks and a few keypresses by changing it to this:
