virus in sc4 terraformer

my virus scan told me there was a hisk virus named trojan and that it was in setup sc4 terraformer. i really want to know why theres one there.

I got it as well today although my NA was able to "fix" the problem and prevent a spread. Guys this needs IMEDAITATE attention please!

well...most EXE files like that can be attacked and overtaken by viruses...the installers that the BSC use are a good example since I found out you need to remove them after use.This simply shows it's got holes that can cause the application to be overtaken by a virus...the guy who made it needs to figure out how to fix it unfortunetly..

wouanagaine, the creator of SC4TF has been notified of the virus threats, and is looking into the matter. in the meantime, he and the testing team advise everyone to not download the program until the problem has been resolved. if you have already downloaded this program, please go here and follow the step by step instructions to determine if you have the Trojan and how to remove it if you do:

if anyone is getting this alert on anything other than Norton, please post in the SC4TF thread in Modding Research and Discussion here.

if you follow the discussion, the results are widely varying from user to user, and so far we only have testimony from NIS users. wouanagaine suspects its a false alarm due to the way the program is coded, but he can't be sure. many users of the program have found the files left behind by the trojan. so, again, i urge you not to download this program until the problem has been resolved. and if you use any antivirus other than NIS and get this alert, please post in the official Discussion thread.

since v.06 is not actively up for download, and I have scanned v.08c and fine it virus free (symantec av corp up to date) , I suggest those who still have v.06 to delete it to be on the safe side and download v.08c, as this info needs to be posted in the support thread for the product
