Question regarding highways. Is there any way possible to only create 1 side of the highway?

As well as there being a way to split highways and avenues, I think there should be some mod on the stex where you can split sided highways and avenues. It would be a sueful mod.

Unfortunely, no.  You can either use one-way roads to bring the split highways together or use the rural highway (RHW) to connect the sections or use it entirely for the split sections.

Im not an expert at this but this is how I think it goes:

I dont think that the pics are in the right order but the first 3 pics are highways with 3 lanes going one way each. And the last 2 pics are of 6 lane going one way each.

I think that tutorial will be useful, usad25, since that's a commonly asked question. Host them offsite, and maybe contact the SHS to get it on the Omnibus. Easier to point to.

Really you think its that great? Honestly? Well I am sorta new here (im sure you can tell...) but how would I go about hosting them offsite or contacting SHS?

The only way I know how to post pics is by useing the attachment at the bottom of the reply screen. Do you think you could pm me or something to help me put them in the way you put them in your tutorial? Ive tryed uploading at a couple different sites. But they never work.

Glad you think its pretty good. I can easily make it a lot more detailed, which I would have to do if I want it to get put on the Omnibus.

use http://www.imageshack.us to host your pics. imageshack is only one of the several picture hosting sites out there, a google search should yeild you with ample other results. once your pic is hosted, find the direct link to the image (what you type in to the address bar to get to the image only), and use that for the image URL. you can only post images if you click on the Reply link that's below every message. it opens a new window, so make sure you've got disabled your popup blocker.

to get it on the omnibus, you need to contact the Simtropolis Help Squad. i'm pretty sure they're who post Omnibus articles, so sending a PM to the writer of any Omnibus article should suffice.

Does any one know if there already is a tutorial of how to make rail down the middle of the highway? Just wondering if I do write up a tutorial if I should include that part of it..... Anyone?

Hmmm. I don't know whether or not there is one, but it's pretty simple:

You start by building two ground highways next to eachother:

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH= 2 tiles wide (ground highway)

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH= 2 tiles wide (ground highway)

Then, you build an elevated highway thru the middle the whole way (don't stop somewhere down the line, because then it won't work)

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH= now only 1 tile wide

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE= 2 tiles wide elevated highway

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH= now only 1 tile wide

destroy the elevated highway portion.

What you end up with is a two tile space between the new ground highway system, which should look like this:

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH= 1 tile wide

------------blank two tile spacing-------------------

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH= 1 tile wide

I'll try to post some pics on how to make a one tile wide space between the highway pieces.

NOTE: Don't forget the NAM is required to do this.

Then put your rail line in between. Hope this helps

Yeah I know how to do it and all, I was just wondering if there is a tutorial of it already. So I won't be repeating anything if this is not one already made.
