Anyways, I also think it'd be nice if it changed with the seasons. Needs a bright sunshine in the summer...

If it'd be possible to get a script going... you could have something for all the seasons. Spring would have mostly that nice light cloudy sky we saw, and a chance of a slight rain shower. Summer -- sun and T-Storms... Fall, leaves falling, etc.

Or maybe I'm just taking this too far.

True. I see no slowdown at all, just a delayed load the first time.

You know, if you right-click the banner, you could stop the player, change the quality settings, and such.  It's like any other Flash media.

Of course, in my case, when it's just motion involved, I far prefer animated gifs to flash. Why? Well, you can't right click and save picture as flash....!

 

And dirk has a new avatar... which looks completely weird.... and not like Duke Nukem... meh...

No, see that's not my main concern. I have OCD, I hoard, and I save all kinds of crap on my hard drive. For something that's interactive and/or has sound, go ahead and use flash. But for a simple animation, GIFs please! I want to be able to save it! You're interfering with my hoarding! And it irks me so!
