I noticed something weird. I choosed what I though was the park trail texture and in game became the regular street texture 33.gif I think those textures work a little bit different from regular ones.

that subway station is neat. I really like the el rail station though. i really like the new version with the angled square glass.

And i agree with the other person, we need longer el rail stations

I would not dare to go down that ramp. Would say it need a little more space, a least two tiles in all (one extra tile). Beside that its looks great.

Agreed, that ramp looks quite dangerous. 2.gif But I'm under the impression that you can reduce the steepness within one tile as well - looking at the size of the car on the street, I guess the height of the parking garage entrance is about 6 meters at the moment, which is a lot more than needed. Most parking garage entrances aren't higher than 2.5 meters or so, in gmax scale that would mean 3.5 meters at most.

I'm wondering if this ramp looks safer for our sims 3.gif

I noticed some weird shadows appering in the subway station. I don't know where they are coming from o.O

Edit: Forgot to show the 6x1 Station

I've been unspired so I just duplicated the building to see how would it look like. It is an interesting hourglass shape and It gives me more space to put the stairs and elevator in the middle of the lot.

I said this about a year ago.Why not not just convert your Monorail over to EL instead of taking time away from family and other RLS.If I had a family well I would be with them.

A year ago or two I converted the monorail station to el-train and posted it in one of my forums, if you want the file I can always attach it again to one of my post in this forum. I wouldn't like to upload it to the STEX because I like making new models for each station and I believe I can always improve my skills.

I don't believe I'm taking time away from my family, if I didn't have the time to be here I wouldn't have returned.

The 6X1 station looks great! That will be a unique addition to the STEX - haven't seen anything like it anywhere. Expect that to be playing a starring role in some CJs!

As far as I know, models that extend underground produce errors when casting shadows, so you have to set the "Is Ground Model" property in the prop exemplar file to "false" (0x00). And yes, the new ramp looks much better. 4.gif The el-rail station looks very nice as well; I'm not sure if simply copying the roof two times is the best approach (yes, I know we're all lazy 2.gif ), but the general shape is interesting indeed. I guess you have to change the support pillars a bit, thuough, since it looks odd to have two of them directly next to each other.

As always thank you for your advice Andreas, I will change that property so I we don't get those weird shadows.

The El-Train model needs a lot of work indeed. I was just playing with the model to see if I could get something interesting.

I think there is a big advantage with a 6x1 station because I can put some buses underneath similar to what some RL stations have. On a 3x1 station is more difficult because I usually ran out of space 3.gif

I wonder what process others use to create their buildings. I usually have an idea in my mind of what I want, and then I start to play with different shapes in GMAX. The monorail station had about 10 somewhat different looks before I decided to stick with the one you know. One of those looks made the station looked like a sandwich with a piece of chesse on top, I guess I was hungry at the time 3.gif

Woah...you've been busy, lol. Love everything, the 6x1 is awesome, the bus/subway is nice. As far as modding, I can do the bus/sub, the el/sub/bus, and I can do a el/sub/bus over road too, but I don't know how to do pathing, so it would be functional, but the cars would dissappear when they went beneath the station. So let me know when it's all ready for modding. The NDEX modder is at your service!44.gif10.gif BTW: still in love with that cat of yours. 36.gif

thats a flippin awesome station. the longer the better. I know its just duplicating the one you made but the effect it makes looks really cool. and having a bus area underneath would be awesome. Last weekend i was up in dallas and rode DART and something i noticed is that all the stations are sort of long and can accomodate up to 8 car trains and have buses on the bottom.

Whoa, 6x1 el-station? it's a nice Idea, but if it's for El over road, than I think you should shrink it a little, the average block is (I think) less than or equal to six tiles, and it's almost impossible to build stations next to intersections.

    Hey, Brenda.

Nice transportation BATs. I don't suppose I'd know you, but welcome back. 4.gif

The station is very well-made. The parking and subway is nice as well. Keep at it.

BTW, nice cat. It is a cat, right? 3.gif

The 6x1 would be for normal el. El-over-road would be a standard 3x1. I'd personally like to see the el-over-road as 4x1, but that's me, and I've never used the el-over-road anyways...
