Once onboard the station, the ship’s crew was seized, and taken by a small robotic orb into a large, open area.

This would seem to be a garden, of sorts, about a square kilometer in size. The garden was filled with hundreds of different types of flora and fauna. There were some that reached around the entire room, swirling and twisting around, and then the tops of them arrived right near where the roots were. There were some plants that seemed almost animal-like. When poked, they would jerk away, when they were spoken to, they would rotate towards the speaker. The crew was pulled away from this garden-like structure, and into a somewhat smaller room. Once inside, each one of them was given a small device that looked somewhat like an ancient device that the early humans used to help hear things.

They placed it in their ear, and were shocked, as the device seemed to burrow into their eardrums. Then suddenly, after the pain in their ears had receded, they heard voices. What they had thought were simply creaks and groans of the space station’s architecture, had turned out to be an alien language. The device in their ears, was in fact, a form of universal translator. The device fed off positive brain waves that exited through the ear canal, and radio/sound waves, which entered through the ear canal. It preformed a difficult task of combining these two, and sending them back into the ear, as a language that the wearer could understand. The one that they met was not like anything they had seen before.

They seemed friendly enough, even if a little crude. But everyone, and everything, has secrets.

    (To be continued...)

Thanks so much to blondetwiggy, GaBoR, Cityhawk, Leech10, and jacqulina for their continued support! I really appreciate you all for your kind feedback and continued interest.

Honshu, Manhattan, Barcelona, Westminster... Makes me think of Kusari, Liberty, Hispania(?), Bretonia. Do you play Freelancer? Because this story sounds a lot like it. Either way, it's good; Keep it up! I can't wait to see what happens next! 9.gif

I really apologize for not having an update in such a long time, I am having some problems in the family and am afraid that updates will be less common. I will use most of my spare time to work on them, but it seems that spare time is not going to be as available. I truly am sorry for the wait, but I will do my best to have one ready. I still thank you for your interest.

    ******************************************************************************************************

It is so great to be back on Simtropolis! It seems everything is stable in real life... at least until school starts again. But here is hoping to a good revival of this CJ! And now on with the show...

    ******************************************************************************************************

The being spoke to them, acting as if they were one of their own.

"Welcome to station Alpha-9. Where did you get your ship? It is not a government construct, nor is it government certified. How did you get it and what is your ID code?" The explorers looked at each other with strange looks on their faces, not knowing exactly what to think or how to reply.

"What are you?" an impulsive human blurted. Other crew members shot him threatening looks and subtly cautioned him, reminding him that this could be their one chance at relations with this race.

The alien grasped the man by the arm and snapped, "How dare you! You have some nerve saying that to me, what is your business here? Tell me or I will ship you down into a cryogenic prison!" The crew jumped at the alien's hostility.

The man replied softly,  "I am not sure how to respond to you. I do not think we are who you think us to be. Our home planet has been wiped out by a hostile alien race, and we were forced to abandon it, we took refuge and set up colonies in this system. Please, we were told to explore this station by our government. We are sorry, but we cannot tell you any more than this." The alien studied the man, and as he did, his grip receded, and his face loosened.  The alien muttered something and what sounded like an air brake released in the distance. A human walked towards the captured crew.

He spoke, and before the translator kicked in it was obvious it was a human language. "You are the early ones? From our home? Of Earth?  We have much to speak about. Come!"

And so the explorers followed him, and upon walking through a door they realized that they were beginning a trek through what appeared to be an artificial countryside, covered with farms, cattle ranches, and all such facilities.

They boarded a ship. The ship was streamlined and had a chrome tint along all sides. The crew observed the controls. They were in Russian. The ship rocketed towards a planet, the atmosphere was white and shrouded, but it took mere minutes to hit it and plunge through it, what they saw shocked them.

As the crew learned, the planets name was New Moskva, and had been sent on a colony ship with a sub-light engine, meaning that the colony took over 200 years to get there. The colony was sent by the Soviet Union in 1959, and the only ones that had any knowledge of it were killed in the Nedelin Catastrophe. The population had encountered aliens upon touchdown, and had eagerly enslaved them. Exploiting their race mercilessly, they built a civilization. About 400 years after the landing, the alien race, known as the Kavorgi, revolted. After only 3 months of brutal fighting and millions of deaths, the human population and the Kavorgi signed a peace accord, and the senate outlawed the use of slavery anywhere under their control, and granted full amnesty to all Kavorgi.

The explorers learned that the Planet was completely landlocked, and all land on it was taken up by urban sectors. The population of New Moskva was now about 400 Billion people, and all farming had been shipped off into space.

The planet's citizens proudly accepted the new colonists. They were unaware that their home planet had been destroyed.

It was nice to hear that more humans had survived the destruction of Earth. But the citizens of the new colonies worried of this vast civilization. It was known that civilizations become greedy if they go unchallenged for too long.

But they did not worry, for they figured that any human would be glad to see another, no matter how long it had been. This had to be the beginning of a long friendship! Right?

    But they had no idea...

Hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for reading and stay tuned...
