The colony ships met the fleet of Cretorians orbiting the planet within minutes. The ships were focused mainly on the destruction of the decoy spaceports to notice, only 4 ships attempted to intercept them based on the scout ships information. The battle was short, as the colony ships were able to outmaneuver the Cretorian battle fleet easily. It was a single hour after launch when the transmission came in.

“The blockade has been bypassed. Ships statuses are as follows.

Westminster: 98% hull integrity. Starboard engine has taken minor damage.

Siberia: 85% hull integrity, navigation systems damaged.

    Manhattan: 99% hull integrity.

Barcelona: 74% hull integrity, taken multiple severe hits, still operable.

    Honshu: 100% hull integrity.

Ships have been deployed. Begin teleport on scheduled time. End transmission.”

The planet had mere hours left to get everyone onboard the colony ships. The colony ships orbited on the dark side of the moon to avoid detection. At exactly 21:55 August 5th, 3015, Earth’s atmosphere was ignited, and the planet seemed to shriek and scream, as if it knew the pain that everything (including the animals on planet, and the Humans in orbit) inhabiting it was experiencing. The planet was now an uninhabitable barren wasteland. There was no turning back, the planet that Humanity had known for their entire existence, was wiped from the surface of the universe in seconds. Unbelievable amounts of ecosystems, (so many that the Humans knew more about their neighbor Mars then they did about Earth) were wiped out. The Earth as anyone or anything had known it, was no more. The only Humans in the universe were in five large ships, orbiting their home world’s only satellite. The ships sat in complete silence for a long matter of minutes, before swearing that the Cretorians would be destroyed:

From the Human political leader, Alexandre Royale: “You barbaric fools! You have slaughtered massive amounts of living organisms, all for nothing! We are still alive! We will use every last molecule in our living bodies to hunt you down and destroy you, with the same horrific destructive forces you have used on Earth. We bid you goodbye, and good riddance!”

That was the last contact that was heard from the colony ships. They all leaped into hyperspace, not knowing what they were up against, not knowing of what they were headed towards, or even if it still existed. All they had was a ton frozen animal embryos, and a whole lot of hope. That, they knew, would be enough. But one ship would need a whole lot more than that.

Two weeks later, the ships emerged from hyperspace, 200 light years away from Earth. The ships moved in to see Tau Ceti Prime, their new home. They came to see what they could have mistaken for a developing Earth. Tau Ceti Prime had sprawling mountain ranges and also, one of the least common substances in the known universe, water. The rivers had been drawn almost Earth-like. The area was lush, and fertile. All but two ships stared into the planet. The Westminster had suffered minor engine damage, and would therefore arrive two (Earth) hours later. The last ship was there, but it had not fared out so well. The Siberia’s navigation system damage had caused it to lose course, and end up in the Tau Ceti system’s asteroid belt, torn to shreds. The colonists of The Siberia were forced to use the escape pods to land on Tau Ceti Prime’s nearby neighbor planet, Tau Ceti Delta. Unfortunately, half the colonists had been killed in the wreck, and the remaining colonists were barely enough to build the civilization all over again. The colonists of Tau Ceti Prime stared directly into the planet, and all agreed on one central location that the ships would, well, "land". The only problem was that the ships had no way to land. They had to crash.

They knew this would be successful, however the planet they were about to encounter had far more secrets than any of the Humans would expect.

(P.S.) Sorry about the image size, the label for the circled area is "Approximate crash site".

Sorry for the lack of update(s) yesterday. I am usuallt really busy on Mondays. Well, I suppose I won't keep you waiting any longer! 4.gif

Upon arrival upon the planet, and scans of it’s atmosphere, the humans on Tau Ceti Prime discovered an unusually high concentration of Oxygen, and Carbon Dioxide. This meant that industrializing the planet was not going to happen; a loose spark could cause a massive chain reaction, which would destroy the planet. (Kind of ironic, isn’t it?) The citizens decided to limit themselves to farming industry. Farming was a huge success, almost all of the planets that grew on Earth flourished on their planet.

    EmeraldCity-Nov.png

Unfortunately, there was still a bit of low morale on the planet, for any goods they needed to produce were impossible to get. But, they did not know of their neighbors on Tau Ceti Delta. Tau Ceti Delta’s atmosphere was a bit less pleasant. It was an unpleasant environment, with little water, low visibility, and inhaling was not fun at all. (Like some parts of northern Michigan.) The environment was ready to be industrialized! But as they could see, this would not be easy, for the raw materials they needed to, well, mine raw materials, were still on the ship, floating dead 5000 kilometers above them. (Go figure.) The planet’s capitol was named after some factor of the planets that had been discovered shortly after landing. The colony on Tau Ceti Prime was named Emerald City, for the large concentration of Emeralds that were found around the Crash site of The Honshu.

    EmeraldCity-Jan.png

(The Honshu was the first to crash land, the Manhattan, Barcelona, and lastly, the Westminster followed, all of them landing within two kilometers of each other..) Finally, through many weeks of waiting, the first broadcast signals could be received on both planets, for the shipwreck on Tau Ceti Prime was quickly salvaged for all raw materials, and a radio broadcast tower was set up. Tau Ceti Prime simply salvaged the materials from the escape pods. This made both of the planet’s citizens quite pleased, but there was one thing that bothered them. A strange type of interference had been encased within each message sent between the worlds. After a month of fruitless research, the interference was dismissed as an anomaly caused by the magnetic fields of both planets. The scientists, and the rest of the Humans, would soon learn how wrong they were.

The Humans finally started trade between planets. The planets were re-named to suit their inhabitants. Tau Ceti Prime had been renamed to Atlantea, after the sprawling body of water that had covered a vast area of their home planet. Tau Ceti Delta was renamed to Obsidia. This seemed to perfectly compliment its environment. The Humans began to wonder, they had not seen much of their universe. There was not much to be seen, but out of curiosity, the Atlanteans set up an observatory.

    EmeraldCity-Aug.png*

What they saw shocked them. There was an artificial satellite orbiting another nearby planet. Strangely enough, this planet was considered earlier in research on earth, but its atmosphere was far too toxic for any Human to inhale. The satellite was not of human make, but seemed to have a slight resemblance to a space station. An exploration vessel was sent to investigate the station.

Multiple transmissions were sent to the station, but the only responses that were discovered were in some other form of language that was of no Human origin. The language consisted of strange noises, that no Human could pronounce. But the exploration vessel was pulled into the station,(against it’s will) entering a gap in the architecture of the station, which closed after the ship entered. Not one Human knew what was to come, and if this alien race would be the equivalent of the Cretorians.

    (To be continued...)

*Thanks to jule78 for the Observatory.
